Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 14-02-2023 A headline from the Sun, suggesting that Joel and Avram Glazer could launch a shock bid to keep control of Manchester United by buying out their four siblings has to be the worst news ever. What do you think? Also, the Manchester Evening News say Joel and Avram are "exploring" ways of retaining a majority stake. Siblings Bryan, Edward, Darcie and Kevin are United directors. Avram was in Qatar last week - with talk of selling a minority share to investors there. RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 27-04-2023 Deadline for third and final takeover bids of Manchester United is 10pm on Friday; Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS preparing bid which would see them own 50 per cent of club meaning Glazers could retain their 20 per cent stake; Qatar's Sheikh Jassim will make a 100 per cent bid to buy club Do you have any preference? RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 20-07-2023 Man Utd takeover bidders fear the Glazer family won’t sell the club after they failed to obtain their £6bn asking price RE: Worst News Ever? - LettCat - 01-08-2023 (20-07-2023, 11:28 AM)Noucamp99 Wrote: Man Utd takeover bidders fear the Glazer family won’t sell the club after they failed to obtain their £6bn asking price If they really want to buy it, they'll pay 6bn. The Glazer family has the right to demand that money, doesn't it? But what a high price! RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 02-08-2023 It gets worse this morning when the Daily Mirror reports: "The Glazer family have reportedly decided to 'pause' the Manchester United takeover process and have not responded to offers tabled by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al-Thani" RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 03-08-2023 Better news, maybe: Manchester United's owners remain in talks with a number of groups with a view to a full or partial sale of the club despite recent silence on movement behind the scenes at Old Trafford RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 23-08-2023 Should maybe change the title after this.... Sheikh Jassim is set to complete a full £6bn takeover of Manchester United by mid-October and his team is currently completing due diligence on the club. RE: Worst News Ever? - Noucamp99 - 16-10-2023 Sheikh Jassim's bid to take over Manchester United started on the wrong foot after he angered the Glazers by saying he wanted to return the club to "former glories", according to the Daily Mail. The report claims the Qatari bid to buy Man Utd, one many thought would be successful, never recovered after the statement was made following initial offers. "To say that comment did not go down well with the Glazers would be an understatement," it adds. The Raine Group, the American merchant bank overseeing the talks for Man Utd, warned bidders to keep their mouths shut in what was interpreted as a "direct shot" at the Qataris. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the only other serious bidder, appears to be on the verge of finalising a deal to take 25 per cent of the club. |
