THE SUN GOES WITH
ANDERSON will miss this summer's World Cup after he was ruled out for SIX MONTHS with a horror injury.
The Manchester United midfielder suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in the win over West Ham on Tuesday.
It was his first appearance for over a month and although he tried to continue, the Brazilian was forced off within minutes.
United boss Alex Ferguson said: "The real bad news is that Anderson has a cruciate knee injury.
"He will be out for the rest of the season. It is a bad blow."
Asked if Anderson would be fit for the start of next season, Ferguson added: "That's six months away.
"We need to assess the situation in two weeks and then we will see but it's a long way off."
The injury is another setback for Anderson, who has struggled to hold down a regular place since joining United from Porto in 2007.
He has made just 10 Premier League starts this season, scoring once.
