Dimitar Berbatov praised his manager and team-mates for the part they played in arguably his best period with Manchester United.

The 29-year-old has hit the ground running in his third campaign at Old Trafford. Berbatov has won two "Player of the Month" awards for his displays in September - including that impressive hat-trick against Liverpool. And while he didn't add to his season's tally of six league goals on Saturday, he was still one of the Reds' best players in the 2-2 draw with West Brom.

The Bulgarian striker credits his critic-defying form to the coaching staff and players around him on a day to day basis. Berbatov says they have been influential in him maintaining a positive outlook.

Berbatov told MUTV: “It is important to have belief all the time. Not only when you score goals but when you’re down as well because every player goes through difficult times in his career.

“Sometimes you underestimate yourself and start thinking bad things that you’re not supposed to. But your team mates and your manager can help you, even if it's just to say 'hi, how are you?'

“Sometimes the smaller things are the most important things." Berbatov said.

It's refreshing to see a player, (especially one of Berbetov's standing) adopt such a levelheaded approach to his footballing problems for a change.
If only another would take a leaf out of his book, realise they are in need of help and then have the humility to accept it, when offered.
