Great team performance from England. 1st time in history that they've qualified for the finals with 2 games to spare. Great closing down and chasing, starting from the front with Wazza and Heskey. Heskey has done his chances of going to Africa no harm with that performance. Only negative for me is the fact that Glenn Johnson (new wheel stealer) is not in international full back. OK going forward, but can't defend. Who else is there at the moment, though, who could do a job? Our Wesley, maybe?
Well done England, but now, we can concentrate on the proper football!

why did capello put heskey up front and leave defoe who is on fire at the moment on the bench, heskey was clean useless last night

I thought Heskey worked hard and held the ball up well, bringing other players into the game. He is a good target and a different option. I thought Defoe looked better on Saturday than yesterday, tbh.

Yes, you're right. My mum would have scored that and she's 74! Lennon missed a better one, I thought. His was going wide and was so weak. John Lennon would have done better!!

What are the expectations for the Irish? Do you need to beat Italy for your boys will qualify directly, or is there a chance of going through the play-offs? I'll try to look out on BBC or Sky Sports web pages.

if we win our next two games and italy draw 1 and lose the other then we go true no matter what .
if we win one more we have a play of!
if we lose our two and bulgaria win the two there get the play off.
id be happy with a play of now at this stage!

Cheers for that. If you win both, then Italy will lose 1, cos you've got to play them haven't you? Good luck. Even just working out the complicated maths!
