Ferguson satisfied with squad
#1
Alex Ferguson has said that he is happy with the current squad. United have made only two new signings this season, Javier Hernandes and Chris Smalling. He said he is happy with the two new signings and that he is comfortable with the current squad.

I still think we need a creative midfielder who can score goals, if we still play Rooney up front on own, unless we plan to go back to 4-4-2 this season which is doubtful with our midfield which seams weak against top sides

Yes.The team does not look as good as when Giggs and Scholes are on.They won't be around too much longer so we do need a creative midfielder.Pitty Hargreaves has had a set back, don't look good for him.
I seem to think we need a quality striker.I know Hernandez has been signed but it will talke him a while to settle in.He did have a great world cup. That's exciting for us.Let's hope Wazza gets over his World Cup blues or else we will be in trouble..

Ah s0 SAF is happy - well most of the United fans are not!!

Liverpool have the cash to pay Joe Cole 's salary and we are only able to get the Mexican and Smalling(who is very inexperienced as could be seen in the Celtic Match!) .

We need a good creative midfielder who can supply decent passes to our attackers.

The club is skint, and that is the fact! We cannot compete with Chelsea
and some other Premier teams! We have become a second-rate team ourselves!!

unless we are saving what money we have for when Giggs, Scholes, Neville and VDS retire, which i believe 3 of that 4 will do at end of this season coming up, then we buy. otherwise when they all go we may have some poor years ahead

Maybe, with the new 'squad' regulations coming into force this season, SAF would prefer to concentrate on bringing through younger players/home grown talent. Especially as we don't appear able to compete financially in the transfer market at the moment. Although to do so would probably be to the detriment of the clubs future success, well at least for a few years.
Still, what do I know .... apart from the fact that we are likely to be 'left behind' by our rivals.
It was tight at the top last season, and this season .... well it will become even more competitive.

All we (as supporters) can do is to have faith in what ever long term business plan the club has worked out, and pray that they've got it right.

Thumbs Up
I still think that united need a more creative center midfielder together with Fletcher . But Gibson has also shown that he has the capacity to do so. I just hope the team will gain a certain level of stability which will make it more stronger and confident !
