I for one am very excited about the return to full fitness of our midfield enforcer Owen Hargreaves. Even though i am excited there is still part of me that is very anxious. Will he be the same player he once was. If we do see the old Hargreaves return i feel that Hargreaves and Fletcher could provide us with the most dogged midfiled partnership in europe. Some may question the lack of creativity in the middle of the park but i feel that would provide the perfect platfrom for our forward thinking players. I also feel that if we played this combination in the middle of the park, we should use Anderson from the left, not as an orthodox left winger though, as a role where he can drift and become involved with the front two. Some may question where the width would come from on the left hand side? This would be provided by Evra.
Please discuss

Hmm, not sure if it would work, as they are both combatitive players. We would lack a certain something in terms of creativity. With the way Giggs is playing at the moment, you wouldn't swap him with Anderson operating on the left. You can't ignore Valencia at the moment. Hargo would be great cover, but at the mo, if it ain't broke.....

both of them are defensive midfielders though. we wanted flecher to step up because of hargreaves injury, but no that he will be back soon we have a problem.
i think we should try ando and flecher/hargreaves

Might work if we play 5 in the mid.
Ando and fletcher/ Hargo would work .

OK, but then you would have to withdraw a wide player of even a striker. Could this work in Europe? maybe, as SAF tends to favour lone striker role away from home. Might be a good call sasmeister.

Away matches in UCL we could play fetch and hargo .
a formation like
Hargo -- fletcher
Nani/Valencia/Park Ando/scholes/Carrick Giggs/park/Valencia/Nani
Rooney

Not bad, but even SAF won't get away with 13 players in midfield and attack, lol! You're only allowed 11 in total.
Seriously, I can see the wide men getting in the starting line up, to help the lone striker.

I could see a full strength team consisting of
------------VDS
Brown -- Rio -- Vidic -- Evra
--- Hargreaves -- Fletcher
Valencia -------------- Anderson
----------Rooney
--------------Berbatov
with Anderson playing on the left but able to drift inside as he has two hard working players in Hargo/Fletcher behind him. Although Fletcher is doing great right now box-to-box I'm sure if Hargreaves can get back to full fitness both will be great in the middle of the park!
