Manchester United Transfer Rumours and Gossip
Nottingham Forest have made a substantial offer to sign Jesse Lingard and are in talks with his representatives.

There was a growing feeling Lingard would choose West Ham as his next club. They too have a proposal and are awaiting a decision.

Lingard has other offers too - from the Premier League and abroad - and is expected to decide soon where he goes next.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after his contract at Manchester United expired on June 30.

Lingard scored nine goals and registered five assists for West Ham during a successful loan spell in 2021. He made 231 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, scoring 35 goals.

Chelsea are also preparing a bid to challenge Manchester United for the signing of Barcelona and the Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, 25.

Manchester United are willing to pay £67m for Real Madrid's 30-year-old midfielder Casemiro and double the Brazilian's wages to £360,000 a week, after talks with Juventus' France midfielder Adrien Rabiot, 27, broke down. But a deal for Casemiro is now said to be looking unlikely for United, with the player said to not be interested in a move and Chelsea also expressing interest.

United are also considering signing Belgium right-back Thomas Meunier, 30, from Borussia Dortmund if they sell English full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 24, back to Crystal Palace for £10m.

The Red Devils are lining up a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach's Switzerland international goalkeeper Yann Sommer, 33, to challenge number one David de Gea. United want to offer Eintracht Frankfurt and Germany goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, 32, an annual salary of around 10-11m euros (£8m-£9m) to join the club. And, another ball-playing goalkeeper that United are considering a move for is Borussia Monchengladbach's Switzerland international Yann Sommer, 33.
