Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, 22, has arrived in Manchester to complete a medical before being officially unveiled as a Manchester United player.
Manchester United's England defender Chris Smalling will be sold this summer, with West Ham, West Brom and Everton interested in the 27-year-old. The Hammers will make an opening offer of £10m for Smalling, who has been at Old Trafford for seven years, although Manchester United want £15m for the former Fulham and Maidstone United player

Quote:Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in the possibility of returning to Manchester United this summer, Sky sources understand.
The Real Madrid forward wants to leave Spain and a source close to the player says United are very close to his heart.
Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for £80m and they have tried to set up a deal for his return on at least one occasion since his departure.
At the moment, United are wary of being drawn into a transfer saga surrounding Ronaldo's future and the general feeling at Old Trafford is that he will stay in Madrid.
Ronaldo's advisers, though, have been told to find him a new club outside Spain because he is angry after being accused of evading tax of 14.7m euros (£13m) between 2011 and 2014.
There are very few clubs who would be able to afford Ronaldo's transfer fee and his wages.

I would love him back for a couple of seasons. Ronaldo or Bale?
Ronaldo, 32, has told his agent Jorge Mendes to seal a dream return to Manchester United, according to The Sun. However, United manager Jose Mourinho does not want his compatriot as he feels he is a player in decline. This was in the Daily Star. Real boss Zinedine Zidane has called Ronaldo to try to convince him to stay with the Spanish champions.
if the transfer goes through. then United will offer £183m plus their 26-year-old goalkeeper David de Gea in exchange for Ronaldo and Spain striker Alvaro Morata, so says the Daily Mail, but the Mirror says that United will offer Spain international De Gea and £175m for Ronaldo and pursue Morata, 24, in a separate deal. Of course, if De Gea goes to Madrid, then United could move for AC Milan's 18-year-old Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as a replacement, according to Metro!
Wow! Are you up to speed now?

I wonder if they forgot the decimal point?? £17.5m plus De Gea for Ronnie to return?
United have concerns around the fact they do not want to become involved in the media circus surrounding Ronaldo's future. The total cost and complicated nature of any potential deal are also making United wary of becoming embroiled in a transfer saga that would overshadow their preparations for the new season.
I can't say I blame them, but then again, we are so used to being on the front pages, as well as the back pages.

It really is a circus!!
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 32, will not hold Manchester United to ransom over his wage demands to make sure a transfer can go through this summer accordng to The Sun, while the Express says that (as above) Manchester United have serious reservations about re-signing the Portugal captain. Finally, the Daily Star says that United manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for Ronaldo.
Who do you trust?

Round and round we go. Today's latest is that Manchester United would be Cristiano Ronaldo's only choice if he opted for a Premier League return, according to the 32-year-old's advisers. This according to the Daily Record, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has described the speculation over Cristiano Ronaldo's future as "very strange" and says there are no plans to sell the forward so says Talksport!

Quote:Manchester United have received a £9.7m bid from Real Sociedad for Adnan Januzaj, Sky sources.
The Spanish club's offer is one of a number that United are thought to be considering for the 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland.
Januzaj vowed to prove his doubters wrong after moving to Wearside last summer but struggled with injury, making just 18 Premier League starts, and is no longer wanted at Old Trafford.

Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United's Matteo Darmian as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Dani Alves. The Serie A champions are looking for a right-back after deciding to let Alves leave this summer, with Pep Guardiola's City in talks to sign the 34-year-old.
Darmian, 27, has phoned manager Jose Mourinho and asked him to push through his move to Juventus with a World Cup on the horizon.

Like most of us, Jose Mourinho is unhappy at the lack of movement on Manchester United signings this summer.
The United manager wants to conclude a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this week with the first-team squad set to begin training at Carrington on Saturday.
Representatives for Morata met with Real Madrid on Monday morning to discuss the striker's future.
Mourinho identified four key positions where United needed to strengthen to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at the start of the summer, but the club have so far only brought in defender Victor Lindelof ahead of embarking on a pre-season tour of the US on Sunday.
