City submarine
#1
First time posting, long time dotmaning . I think it’s time to bring back the:

"City’s going down like a Russian Submarine" chant.

Seems appropriate in more ways than one.

I like the 51 year banner back in the Stretford End!

United fans revived the iconic "51 YEARS" banner in the Stretford End at Old Trafford on October 10, 2026, during their match against Tottenham.

Key Details

• The Meaning: The banner mocks local rivals Manchester City by treating their trophy drought as if it never ended in 2011, effectively dismissing all trophies won by City since 1976.

• The Catalyst: The stunt followed a legal verdict finding Manchester City guilty of the vast majority of Premier League financial charges covering the 2009–2018 period.

• History of the Banner:
• It first appeared in 2000 as "24 YEARS" (counting down from City's 1976 League Cup win) and was updated annually.
• It reached "35 YEARS" before being taken down when City won the 2011 FA Cup.
• The revived version was organized and funded by the supporter group The Red Army.
