He probably found things way too easy, with 3 Championship wins in his first 3 years, and took his foot off the throttle.
Or, maybe he couldn't cope with the thought of competition from Anderson and the (threatened) return of Owen Hargreaves.
Whatever the reasons, his 'level of excellence' has diminished in most supporters estimations.
Mind you, Roy Keane left a lot for anyone to live up to.
It's no secret that we are weak in midfield so, unless he can redeem himself before the next transfer window, he should then go.
Although SAF could be that one step in ahead of us, surprise us all and have something already planned, prior to the new season starting.
