Tough one that. He has been a fantastic servant to the club and has shown tremendous loyalty, but he's still playing. I think statues and other commemorative items may wait until after the player has retired. Then it becomes tough, as he is very likely to stay with United in a coaching role.
I do believe that he should be recognised, though, it just needs careful consideration when.
