[/font]Hi there, I was a membersher of the One United membership scheme last year and for around 5 years before that. I applied for 7 games last year and was sucessful for 1. Unfortunately the dates I could make the games fell on matches where tickets were always going to be highly sought after. I am aways desperate to watch my team and I've even gone onto the season ticket waiting list, which I simply can't afford (as i'm a student) but if that is the only solution I wil do it. However, is there any other way of getting tickets? maybe through supporters on forums such as this? Of course i'd like to thank the Glazers for pushing the price of the cheapest season ticket from £390 to £560 and for slowly but surely ruining my chances of waching United. Any help much appreciated.

I also share the problem. Just like yourself I have been a family member of one united for many years and have found it very hard to get tickets in the ballot. I was only sucessful once in the last season as well. I have also noticed the viagogo fees have gone up in price as well, charging around £20 extra on top of the ticket price. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get three tickets seated together on viagogo. I have made provisional plans to go to Manchester which have had to be cancelled and have also on one occassion watched a match on TV in the bar of a hotel in Salford Quays. My wife enjoyed the 2 days shopping in Manchester (which started out as my Christmas present from her ). At the Liverpool match in March I got one ticket at the last minute and my wife and child went to the cinema in the Lowry. I am also on the waiting list for season tickets as I have been so frustrated and if sucessful will probably go ahead and buy but will have to try for the cheepest due to the increase in cost.
I have noticed that there are web sites selling tickets for hundreds of pounds where you have to collect your ticket at a city center hotel a few hours before the match.
I think it is a disgrace that people can make so much money out of ordinary, decent fans who just want to go a few times a year to OT and see their hero's live.
Sorry Scholes_18, I have not been much help to you but I am also keen to see if anyone has any comments to make. Watching this thread with interest

To be honest, it's good to hear that i'm not the only one. Viagogo is an absoloute disgrace considering the amount they charge on top of ticket face value. The One United membership scheme is also a shambles. Although it is fair to do a ballot, they should give people who ave been unsucessful time and time again a little priority. If I was sucessful four games in a row for example, I would gladly accept that people who have been unsucessful for those games would have priority in the next ballot. The lovely owners will gladly take our membership fee off us regardless of wether we are sucessful or not. Admiteddly that was the case before the Glazers were in charge aswell.
Because of this I am keen also to here if anyone has any advice. Thanks

I have had the same problem in the past so last season I just bought a season ticket. There is never a shortage of good offers to buy it for single games if you cant go. Despite going to most games it hardly cost me anything such is the profit I made selling the ticket for a few games. Im going to do the same thing for next season.

Well that sounds like something I want to do then to be honest. How did you sell the tickets to the games you didn't want to go to? Did you sell them through forums like this or did you already know people who would want them?
The only problem is that I go university in Sheffield so thats where I will be living and i'm not sure wether people will be willing to travel to Sheffield to pick the ticket up if I couldnt make it myself. How much do you reckon the season ticket cost you in the end then Niklas89? Taking into account the price of the season ticket and how much you sold the extra tickets you didn't need. Thanks.

I would think that if there was a ticket available to see our beloved United, then people can make plans to detour to either pick them up or maybe meet at a convenient location.
I have 'borrowed' a season ticket before and actually did it by recorded mail. That involves a lot of trust and honesty, but it worked out OK.
I was also offered a loan of one that lives in Reading and I am in Essex, but would willingly have popped by to pick it up!

@ Scholes_18 my ticket was in the Stretford end so from memory was about £680 in total plus cup tickets. I dont have exact figures but I sold my prem Derby ticket for £80 alone because I was working. You can easily fetch £30-£40 a ticket for the normal games. I live quite close to OT so I go to most games but sold about 9 or 10. I normally sell to friends and familly which is easy enough as I live in Manchester but im sure you could sell them quite easily wherever you are. I guess you could sell on a forum such as this, but you do run the risk of someone just not returning your ticket to you after the game.

Thanks for the help everyone, I've pretty much decided now that I will get the season ticket if I get the chance. Just hope that i'm far enough up on the waiting list. In february I was around number 3200 on the list. Reckon I have a good chance?

I see that the Supporters Trust have asked that fans don't renew their season tickets to hit the Glazers in the pocket and just apply for the games that they want to go to with their mates! I don't get that?!! Why would we want to stop watching the team we love on a regular basis, apply for the odd match, which we might miss, to help the Red Knights pay less for a mega business?

I think the 'dont renew your season ticket' plea is a little pointless. Season tickets are so in demand that if you don't renew there will always be someone in the waiting list ready to take it off you.
The Red Knights buying he club would be amazng but as it stands, it is only a pipe dream. This means their is a chance that by not renewing season tickets, you could miss watching the team you love and The Glazers still being in control at the end of it. Remember The Glazers are a hell of a lot more intelligent than they let on.
