Man Utd vs Blackpool Game OFF!

Question

Man Utd vs Blackpool Game OFF
Supposed to be played on 4/12/2010

Following ongoing discussions between the Premier League, Match Officials and Manchester United it was agreed match referee Peter Walton would inspect the Bloomfield Road playing surface on Friday afternoon.

After consulting with the groundsman and club officials the Northants based official traveled to the Fylde Coast and inspected the playing area at the stadium.

Mr Walton expressed concern that the severely affected areas of the playing surface would not thaw sufficiently for the game to be completed.

The Premier League and officials at Manchester United were kept fully updated with the ongoing situation at Bloomfield Road.

United supporters who purchased a ticket for the Blackpool match are advised that their ticket will be valid for the rearranged date.

Two interesting home matches for our League Cup adversaries, against the two teams immediately above the relegation zone.

'The Arse' have the easier match because :~
When it comes to 'London Derby's', Fulham have won just 3 out of the 43 they have played away from home.
  • Arsenal have never lost at home to Fulham, in any competition.
  • Fulham have not won a game away from home in 25 matches, (Since Portsmouth, opening day of last season).
  • Both teams are prone to shock reversals of form.
  • In 2009, Fulham/Schwarzer although somewhat overwhelmed, kept a dominant Man United at bay for 90mins to win the game 2 - 0. Sad
  • Arsenal lost something more than a 2 - 0 game of football against Man United on 24th October 2004.

'Chelski' have the harder match because:~
It comes as second nature for Eveton to 'rough-up' their opposition, no matter who they are, be it home or away.
(It may even be in Tim Cahill's contract to do so.) Wink
  • 'The Pensioners' are unbeated at home in their last 15 games against Everton.
  • Of those 15 Chelsea home games, the last four in a row have all ended as draws.
  • Saha has scored three goals in the last two Premier League games between the two teams
  • Their last meeting, (Goodison Park) saw Everton end 18 Premier League matches against Chelsea without a win.

Missing the Blackpool game this weekend will make things really tough for us now.
We could feasibly find ourselves in 4th place, even before we play our next PL match on the 13th December .... when Arsenal come to Old Trafford.
6 days later and the pressure is on again. Then (the 19th.), it will be piled on by our game with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

December has now become a make or break month for us in the Premier League, just as we had hit 'Top Spot' and closed the goal difference too.
We now have to make certain of being 'there, or there about's', come the New Year.
To do so we must be sure to take (at the very least) - 8 points from our next 4 matches to potentially keep ourselves among the top three.

We have some great players, on great money, who owe our great club some great games.

 Show us how great you really are .... Come on the lads !!!.

it is imperative that we get something against the two difficult games coming up.To take points off Arsenal and Chelsea would put us in good stead as we head into the new year.
Traditionally we play our best football around Christmas and into the new year.Hopefully we can beat both teams as dropping points to either will help one or the other out.A draw will not be too bad either .To win will obviously be the best senario with Sunderland,Birmingham(tough game away),Stoke going into the new year and we should take max points off of these if we want to win the prem.
Yes,pity about our game being the only one off so far.Just don't want to run into a congested schedule..Maybe going out of the Carling might be a good thing in the long run.
Everton have been struggling so let's hope they can raise their game today agains fellow strugglers Chelsea.
Can't see Assenal losing at home today ,although we have seen a few cockups over the last few weeks..We can only hope and pray..
one thing of note, when we play ASSenal,Spurs play Chelsea....could be an interesting afternoon this!!Unfortunately when we play chelsea, Arsenal have Stoke...So perhaps Arsenal may be the team to watch in the next few weeks..
Interesting games ahead,can't wait!!!!
