You are spot on there. I hope MUST and IMUSA can rally the troops, get them organised and make a difference. I think they are a key factor in what happens, as well as these billionaires!

yeah i think the fans should have more of a say in most football clubs, it would stop alot of the stories we see in the papers about lies and money problems! fans in most circumstances would rather see there club survive than just being succesful! of course we support the best club in the world so success has to be acheived! but to see my club still around in the future has to be the main aim!!!

Glazers set to successfully complete Manchester United £500m bond offer

• Announcement to New York Stock Exchange expected today
• Offer gives family flexibility from lenders' conditions

The Glazer family is expected to announce to the New York Stock Exchange today that their £500m bond issue has been fully subscribed.

A 322-page prospectus released for the issue showed Manchester United's total debt stands at £716.6m but, according to reports in the Times, more than 50 investors, primarily insurers and low-risk pension fund providers, have taken up the offer at a fixed annual interest rate of nine per cent, with the interest to be paid quarterly.

The bond offer, secured on United's stadium and other assets, gives the Glazer family flexibility from the strict lending conditions imposed by banks.

The Glazers have made provision to channel up to £127m back into the parent company in the first year alone to start paying down the club's enormous debt.

sounds abit more promising!

Hmm, we'll see. I'm really not convinced over bonds issue. An injection of capital is what is really needed. Start to actually work on the debt and not bury heads in the sand and hope it will go away.

BTW, Benn, nice signature!!

It keeps changing colour, lol!!!

I still can't see the benefit to Manchester United with the bond issue, as the money invested has to be paid back, with a return on the investment. It's just a glorified second loan, secured against, horror of horrors, Old Trafford and Carrington. Someone tell me what is actually good about this deal? it seems that the Glazers have simply secured a little more freedom and flexibility to fleece the club, take more millions each over each year and virtually, strip the club of any honour, investment, capital and future growth.

when u put it like that it sounds horrible!

LOVE UNITED HATE GLAZER!

RE: Glazers, Bond Issue and Debt - Noucamp99 - 22-01-2010

It is. Our glorious club, in debt to the tune of over £700 million and now 'borrowing' a further £500 million to play around with the finances. What kind of plan or business model is that? There seems to be no clue as to how to run the business successfully. Just a semblance of one on how to strip the club and get all they can out of it and line their own pockets!

i wonder when the next game glazer actually comes to watch will be?
