New Player to Join Youth Academy - Phil-M.U.F.C. - 13-01-2010 Looks like a new youth is set to join Manchester United Youth Academy in February after given a one week trail. Hmmm wonder what this lad will turn out to be like. United to trial Swedish teen Youngster will join up with United's youth academy in February Manchester United are set to hand Swedish teenager Rasmus Lindgran a week-long trial. The 15-year-old, not to be mistaken with the Ajax midfielder of the same name, will join up with United's youth academy in February. His father Mikael Lindgren admits he is bowled over by the scheduled trial, saying there are none bigger than the 11-times Premier League champions. He does, however, admit that his son will likely stay in Sweden for the time being because he is too young to move abroad. "It can probably not be any bigger than this," Lindgren snr told Dala-demokraten. "I find it hard to believe he would move to a club abroad already though." Lindgran has been linked with Swedish sides Brage, Gefle and IFK Gothenburg in recent weeks. RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - andrewcmufc - 14-01-2010 approved, good to see more young talent coming in to the club RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - Noucamp99 - 14-01-2010 We've usually had a good youth policy. or nicked players from citeh's!! RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - DaleDaManc - 14-01-2010 Yeah i see us keep MOST of this youth now with all the money problems! We have to make plenty of superstars like what we did with Ronaldo and then there will be no need to buy players like a big mistake was letting go Shawcross that was a HUGE mistake witch i'd say Fergie is gutted over! But I'm sure there will be more players evan better to come! RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - Noucamp99 - 14-01-2010 TBh, could SAF's biggest mistake (no matter what we think of the guy) be letting Judas go to citeh? Shawcross? Who would have known? Same can be said for many other players who SAF has let go. Some just accept they weren't good enough, but there will always be the odd one or two who will roll up their sleeves and think: "I'll bloomin' show him not good enough!" and improve their game. Still, we're supposed to have 1st option... RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - DaleDaManc - 14-01-2010 Yeah totally mate that judas is getting them big results latly init RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - Noucamp99 - 21-01-2010 Swedish starlet Rasmus Lindgren has admitted he is too young to join Manchester United in the near future. The highly-rated 15-year-old will have a week-long trial with the Red Devils in February. He will play with the youth academy and is looking forward to testing himself against other promising youngsters. However, Lindgren does not believe it would benefit his career to sign for United at the current time. "I feel too young for that. In a few years I could consider a move," Lindgren told Fotbolldirekt.com. "It will be really fun just to go there and make a good impact and enjoy everything. "I have no plans to move abroad. I am going for the experience and to have fun." Lindgren claims that playing at a junior level in Sweden and fighting for his place in the national youth squad is more important than a move. "I feel too young," he added. "It's probably going to take a few years before I would like to move." source: skysports.com Note that friendorfoo researched this and wanted to post too. RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - Phil-M.U.F.C. - 21-01-2010 Cheers mate, got this to add of few more youngsters onn trial with looks to permanent deals United cast eye over trio Red Devils take three young Swedish players on trial Manchester United have taken a trio of young Swedish players on trial with a view to offering them permanent contracts. The Red Devils have seen all three players, all of whom are 15-years-old, before but seem keen to have a second look at the youngsters in question. Rasmus Lindgren has been invited to Old Trafford but has already stated that he does not believe his career will benefit from joining the Premier League champions at this moment in time. Joining Lindgren are Brommapojkarnas ace Simon Tibbling and Vasteras starlet Linus Sjoberg but Brommapojkarnas coach and United scout Tommy Soderstrom highlights that the club are particularly interested in Tibbling. "United find him interesting," he told Expressen. "United found him really interesting. He is far from ready but he still copes really well." source: skysports.com RE: New Player to Join Youth Academy - Noucamp99 - 22-01-2010 SAF has always invested in the strong youth policy. I wonder how the PL rules about the 90 minute journey radius, limiting the poaching of other clubs' youngsters works here? Does that only apply to under a certain age? |
