Rio Suspended for FOUR Matches - Noucamp99 - 26-01-2010 The Football Association has charged Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand with violent conduct after his clash with Hull City's Craig Fagan on Saturday. Video replays provided evidence that the England centre-back swung an arm at his opponent in the second half of the Red Devils' 4-0 win at the weekend. FA officials have decided to act and the 31-year old now has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge before a decision is made regarding his punishment. The match was Ferdinand's first game since the end of October following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. United host derby rivals Manchester City on Wednesday in the second leg of their Carling Cup semi-final second leg. Charge Rio - WatchMUFC - 26-01-2010 thats a joke and a half. 3 games for a little slap. RE: F.A. Charge Rio - Dj Quick - 26-01-2010 and if he decides to appeal they can slap a 4 game ban on him RE: F.A. Charge Rio - Vazza - 26-01-2010 hope he play vs city else ... Rio will miss vs city and arsenal !!!! RE: F.A. Charge Rio - Dj Quick - 26-01-2010 He can play against city if he appeals but the FA could say he used that to his advantage and knock another game on as a ban RE: F.A. Charge Rio - olocky - 26-01-2010 got to appeal so can play in derby, the video evidence needs clarifying across the board, either everything counts or nothing does, if a ref see's it, however small part of it and mentions it in report nothing can be done, seems an odd rule RE: F.A. Charge Rio - Noucamp99 - 26-01-2010 Interesting how the FA deals with video evidence: Representation A Player does not have the right to be present or represented at a hearing of a Regulatory Commission in respect of incidents covered by this Standard Direction. The matter will be dealt with on video and written evidence only. As a guide the following schedule will apply: Incident Sat/ Sun Charge Tuesday Reply And Submissions Wednesday Commission Thursday RE: F.A.
