Liverpool will need a few more signings to get top 4, their squad depth is weak. 5th for them this season i think

That is correct. But since Joe Cole has signed for Liverpool, there are more chances of Gerrard and Torres also staying. So Liverpool will have better chances.

Main problem for Liverpool is not having the striker who score goals consistently and also remain injury free.In this context Joe Cole's signing with the club wont improve their performance as they wanted it to be.
