United Fail In Bid For Stephen Ireland - WatchMUFC - 30-08-2009

Look at this crap I have just read on the Sunday Mirror Website

United have failed in a sensational bid to prise Stephen Ireland away from arch rivals Manchester City.
Sir Alex Ferguson hoped that the 23-year-old Irishman could be tempted away from Eastlands because Mark Hughes has an embarrassment of midfield riches with Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany in his squad.
But United were told that there was no chance of City selling Ireland – their current player of the year – at any price.
Ireland, who has just signed a five-year deal at City, said: “I want to be part of what happens at City because I think we’re going to achieve great things.

Talking about bad press day??

Simply isn't good enough.

He's one of those who'll be replaced within his own side probably, once that happens he will probably end up somewhere like blackburn or fulham..

Good thing? I think so, that's if it's true.

I agree. He'll not have as good a season with so many 'stars' around him. Small fish, big pond. I can see him ending up at Celtic or Rangers, or like you say, an equally small Premier league side like Blackburn. We've got so much strength in depth, why would we want to even talk to citeh about him?
SAF has been quoted speaking about bringing Gibson through, along with looking to the future with Anderson (he's better than Kleberson) and Fletcher. No place for citeh rejects!
