Fulham defender Sascha Riether has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following his stamp on Man Utd's Adnan Januzaj at the weekend.

Quote:The German right-back lashed out at the teenager in frustration in stoppage time of the Cottagers’ clash with the reigning Premier League champions – a game United won 3-1 on Sunday.
The match officials failed to see the 30-year-old’s stamp but the FA has analysed the video evidence and decided to charge the defender with violent conduct.
A three-man panel of ex-professional referees – Alan Whiley, Eddie Wolstenholme and Steve Dunn – have now looked at the footage and decided Riether should have received a red card for the stamp.

Deserved it.
Soccer needs fair play, without it it's useless, I like to see well played soccer, without faults.

He deserved it. As what mauricioq has mentioned, football should be about fair play. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid some form of misconduct due to the intensity of the games. Nonetheless, the players should always learn how to control their emotions. At the end of the match, they are all equals. They are all athletes who gets paid to play. This is their job and other people should respect that.

What a cowardly stamp it was and shame that Fellaini was given a yellow for standing up for Januzaj. I say things which are as obviously malicious as this should have even stricter punishments.

Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing (6th November!!), Fulham’s Sascha Riether has been suspended for three matches with immediate effect after he accepted an FA charge for violent conduct.

Riether was charged by The FA following an incident which occurred in added time of Fulham’s game against Manchester United on Saturday 2 November 2013.

The incident, which involved United’s Adnan Januzaj, was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
