January Transfer Window Wish List

Who'd be a premier league manager? You look at our squad and it still looks like there's strength in depth. Then, you come up against a decent (not brilliant) chelski side and we looked thin through the middle again. Centre backs looked solid enough and had little drogba in their pockets, really. But, with Rio and Vidic struggling for fitness, we're down to bare bones there, too. With full fitness, though, we should have more than enough defensive cover.
Midfield needs more creativity. Carrick has not reached his full potential and Fletch was never going to be the creator - more a destroyer. Anderson has good pace and tries hard, but not like Scholes of old.
I think we're OK for wide players. Potential for strikers is pretty good, but never say never.
In short, you're probably right. A like-for-like replacement for Scholes, with an eye for a raking pass, creative on the edge of the box and not afraid to get up and down the pitch.

we need a creative midfeilder that scores goal but i see fergie bringing valencia in the centre with fletcher soon and putting obertan and someone else out wide maybe a place for silva(badly needed now that ronaldo is gone)
an other goal score a proven one like villa or ageuro .

It would seem so. They must have seen something his own club haven't though, as the 24-year-old is third choice at German Bundesliga side Freiburg and has yet to make an appearance this season.

Langer, 6.4ft, came through the ranks at Stuttgart and joined Frieburg in 2007/2008. He is contracted to the club until 2010/2011 and is believed to be worth around 250,000 euros.

The former Austrian Under-21 goalkeeper is not overly impressive according to IMScouting’s network of scouts in Germany and places question marks over the futures of both Tomasz Kuszczak and Ben Foster at Old Trafford.

Current Manchester United number one Edwin van der Sar is in the final year of his contract and the Red Devils have been linked with a number of keepers across Europe including Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moscow) and Manuel Neuer (Schalke).

3rd choice, eh? maybe looking for a new 3rd choice keeper for us? Akinfeev showed just how good he can be in the 2 games against us. Looks to be the best option, but at what cost?

Another story with some legs:

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was able to get up close and personal with transfer target Simon Kjaer this week.

The Mirror says Ferguson was sat at the next table to Palermo’s Danish defender Kjaer at an awards ceremony in Copenhagen on Monday night.

Ferguson, there to present United legend Peter Schmeichel with an award on his induction into Denmark’s football Hall of Fame, was seen sharing small talk with the highly-rated Kjaer, who is on his transfer radar

Mind you, Liverpool and Chelsea are also reported to be interested:

Manchester United are the latest big name club to be linked with highly rated Danish defender Simon Kjaer.
The 20-year-old defender is winning rave reviews for his performances at Italian side Palermo, as well as for his performances in the World Cup qualifiers for Denmark.
The youngster was heavily linked with Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea in March, and has since attracted admiring glances from Real Madrid.
Now it’s the turn of Manchester United to be linked with the defender, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
Kjaer is a self-confessed Liverpool fan, but admitted that it would not stand in the way of a potential move to Old Trafford.
“If United just had two defenders whilst Liverpool had three, I would choose United without hesitation,” Kjaer said in October.
Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to strengthen his defence with the long-term fitness of Rio Ferdinand still in question, and Kjaer is one of a number of defender to be linked with the Old Trafford club.
“It does not help to choose with the heart in that kind of situation. I am a professional.” The Danish defender is believed to have a minimum fee release clause in the region of £11 million in his contract.
