Robin van Persie is having the first part of his medical in England ahead of a planned move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.

A fee has reportedly been agreed for the Dutch international, who is poised to sign a four-year contract once a few remaining details have been finalised.
But Hummels will not be joining United, so it seems:

Quote:Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, says he is staying at the club for another year.
The 26-year-old World Cup winner was reported to be among United boss Louis van Gaal's key transfer targets.
"Of course when the big clubs are interested, and Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, it's an honour," said Hummels.
"I decided not to make the move this year. I decided I wanted to stay here."
Hummels, who has two more years on his Dortmund contract, was part of the Germany team that won the World Cup in Brazil last year.
He has also secured two Bundesliga titles since joining Dortmund permanently from Bayern Munich in 2009 after an initial loan move.

Manchester United may have dropped a hint that they are expecting the arrival of a new leading striker this summer by leaving the No 9 shirt vacant.

The squad reassembled for pre-season training yesterday during which jerseys were dished out. Despite the arrival of Netherlands international Memphis Depay, the youngster was assigned No 26, with No 9 kept safely tucked away.

The jersey is the one traditionally worn by the club's leading striker, with former incumbents including Andy Cole, Dimitar Berbatov, Louis Saha and Bobby Charlton. Most recently it was worn by Radamel Falcao but made vacant when United opted not to make the Colombian's loan move permanent.

The decision not to assign the shirt suggests United are expecting the arrival of a new striker - something Ryan Giggs has openly stated the club are keen to do.

It proved to be a hectic Sunday for the Old Trafford club with Bastian Schweinsteiger flying into Manchester for a medical and striker Robin van Persie heading the other way, arriving in Istanbul ahead of his proposed transfer to Fenerbahce.

And late on Sunday night it was reported the 25-year-old Schneiderlin was also having a medical at United's Carrington training HQ, even though Saints boss Ronald Koeman confirmed last week there had been no further bids for the French midfielder since United had an initial approach rejected last month.

Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has arrived in France ahead of his move to Lyon, according to the club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas.

The Brazilian has one year left on his contract and has been told he is not in manager Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans this season following the arrival of Matteo Darmian.

Angel Di Maria has arrived in Doha to undergo his medical ahead of a proposed £44m move from Manchester United to Paris Saint Germain.

United paid a British record £59.7m fee to Real Madrid last August for the 27-year-old and were understood to want more than the £44m figure quoted in several national newspapers on Friday.

But a deal has reportedly been struck and Di Maria, who was given an extended holiday after competing for Argentina at the Copa America but failed to meet up with the rest of the United squad on their pre-season tour of the United States, looks poised for a move to France.

Sunderland are keen to sign Manchester United star Adnan Januzaj on loan, according to Sky sources.

There has been no formal approach from Sunderland who are looking to add to their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.

United have given no indication that the winger is available but he faces stiff competition for a place in the team, with Memphis Depay, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and Juan Mata likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

David De Gea’s girlfriend has inadvertently confirmed the Manchester United stopper’s transfer to Real Madrid.

Edurne Garcia, who is a 29-year-old popstar, won’t be doing herself any favours with the Old Trafford faithful especially after she was once quoted as saying Manchester was ‘uglier than the back of a fridge’ while taking part in a TV interview in Spain on Wednesday night.

But Garcia’s dislike for the city of Manchester won’t cut as deep as the reported quotes that followed her high profile interview.

Player's girlfriend confirms huge transfer despite Man United agreeing deal

El Mundo are reporting that Edurne Garcia was caught off-microphone after an interview suggesting De Gea is set to move to Real Madrid.

‘Now, when he is in Madrid,’ she reportedly said, ‘everything will be much easier.’

Manchester United recently signed Argentine No 1 Serigo Romero and have today been linked with a move for Spurs’ Hugo Lloris.

Sour grapes anyone?

Quote:Barcelona great Hristo Stoichkov has urged Pedro not to join Manchester United as he feels Louis van Gaal is "destroying" the club .

The Spain international is a transfer target for United but Stoichkov feels he would be better off staying with Champions League winners Barcelona.

Stoichkov barely featured under Van Gaal when the pair worked together at the Nou Camp and he was sold by the Dutchman in 1998, bringing an end to his second spell with the club.

Pedro has agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a proposed move from Barcelona.

The 28-year-old Spain international is believed to have made his mind up over a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Manchester City.

Pedro is still waiting for the clubs to agree on a transfer fee, and it is understood Barcelona will not budge from the £21.2m release clause that is written into the player's contract.
