Manchester United have been offered the chance to buy Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, according to Sky sources.

Rodriguez is expected to leave Real this summer after becoming frustrated at the lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane.

Real signed the 25-year-old from Monaco for £71m after he helped Colombia reach the quarter finals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says he has "more or less" decided his future at the club.

The 31-year-old has played a bit-part role for United this season, coming on as a last-minute substitute in the Europa League final triumph over Ajax.

"There's lots of offers on the table, both in England and abroad," he said.

But United's all-time leading scorer with 253 goals said he would only move to former club Everton if he stayed in the Premier League.

It is understood Rooney does not want the issue to drag on until the final day of the transfer window on 31 August, and he will go away with his family to discuss and decide on his next course of action.

United's top summer target, Antoine Griezmann, is thought to have told Atletico Madrid he is ready to leave, according to reports in Spain.

And United must meet Griezmann's €100m release clause to sign him, says a report in The Telegraph. But then, another report on Sky Sports News, says Antoine Griezmann has not told Atletico Madrid he wants to leave, a club spokesperson has revealed.

We know that the France international is a primary target for Manchester United, with manager Jose Mourinho targeting four top signings this summer.

Griezmann recently revealed on French TV his chances of moving to Old Trafford were "six out of 10" and there were reports in Spain on Tuesday that he had told Atletico he was keen on a move.

However, on Wednesday morning a spokesperson for the Spanish club, who finished third in La Liga, told SSNHQ that their forward had not informed them he wanted an exit.

So, will he or won't he?

Manchester United have turned down a £60m Real Madrid offer for David de Gea.

The Spain goalkeeper was within minutes of joining Real in August 2015 only for the deadline-day deal to collapse, and he went on to sign a new Manchester United contract.

That deal has two years to run, with the option of a further 12 months, and it is reported that De Gea is happy at United.

Real's offer is more than three times the £18m United paid Atletico Madrid for the Spain No 1 in 2011, and almost double the current record fee for a goalkeeper. But that has not stopped United rejecting the bid as they prepare for a return to the Champions League in the wake of their Europa League victory.

De Gea did not play in the final against Ajax as Sergio Romero was preferred.

No Griezmann?

Manchester United have cooled their interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann. Their new stance comes a matter of hours after Atletico had an appeal against their transfer ban rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The Spanish club will not be free to make any signings until January 2018 and therefore would be unable to replace Griezmann if he departs in the summer.

Maybe United have made the signing of an out-and-out goalscoring striker a priority following the knee injury sustained by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in April?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in April and is yet to secure his future at Old Trafford

United already have a number of players that can operate behind the forward line, including Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and that has lessened the club's urgency to sign Griezmann.

The France forward's present contract at Atletico, which runs until 2021, includes an £87m release clause.

Griezmann recently revealed on French TV that his chances of a switch to Old Trafford were "six out of 10", but has since dismissed reports that a deal was already in place for him to join United.

"All the rumours are unfounded," Griezmann tweeted from his official Twitter account. "I'm still Colchonero. My direction will be established after discussion with my sporting advisor."

Real Madrid have rejected a £52.4m (€60m) offer for striker Alvaro Morata from Manchester United, Sky in Italy understand.

Manchester United have made a "very important offer" for Alvaro Morata, the Real Madrid striker's agent has said.

United have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old Spain international as they look to add attacking reinforcements to cover the loss of last season's top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Morata's agent, Juanma Lopez, revealed that free-spending AC Milan have also shown an interest in the former Juventus hitman but says Madrid have rejected an "unsatisfactory" offer from the Italian side.

What happened to Januzia? He promised so much. Another Macheda or did Van Gaal spoil him?
