United will have to pay Leicester City more than £90m for Harry Maguire - making the 26-year-old the most expensive defender of all time - if they are to sign the England centre-back this summer. However, Maguire would prefer a move to United's rivals Manchester City, as he wants to play Champions League football.

Manchester United have agreed an £80m deal with Leicester City that will make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in history. United will pay £60m for the 26-year-old England centre-back - who will have a medical on Monday - with a further £20m to follow in add-ons. however, Maguire has shown no sign of trying to force through a move from Leicester and the Foxes are confident he will be committed to the club if there asking price of more than £75m is not met

Manchester United and Juventus have agreed a swap deal in principle involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky in Italy.

The deal is now said to hinge on Dybala agreeing terms with United.

Jorge Antun, one of the player's representatives, is understood to be in London for talks with United over a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are back in talks to sign Mario Mandzukic from Juventus as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky in Italy.

Lukaku, meanwhile, is currently in Milan for a medical after Inter agreed a £73m fee on Wednesday.

Everton are in talks with Manchester United to sign Marcos Rojo on a permanent deal.

Everton are on the look out for a centre-back after having Kurt Zouma return to Chelsea from a season-long loan and Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka released, as well as seeing United reject their loan bid for Chris Smalling.

The Toffees tried to bring Rojo to Goodison Park last summer, but the deal fell through at the last minute and it's believed Marco Silva sees the 29-year-old as potential replacement for Zouma.

Manchester United have accepted they will have to fund part of Alexis Sanchez's £500k-a-week wages, or pay him off if he moves away on loan.

Manchester United are set to offer Victor Lindelof a £46.8m contract, following Barcelona's summer interest in the defender.

Inter Milan want a loan deal for Manchester United's Chile forward Alexis Sanchez, 30, and are also interested in Barcelona's Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal, 32. The agent of Sanchez is in the UK to discuss a loan move to Inter Milan.
Sanchez was at training with United on Sunday morning. Inter Milan are trying to push through a move for Sanchez - but United would have to subsidise the player's £500,000-a-week wages.

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is close to joining Roma on a season-long loan for a €3m (£2.7m) fee, according to Sky in Italy.

The 29-year-old visited United's headquarters on Thursday to define his exit and is expected to fly to Italy in the evening to undergo a medical.

Smalling is currently United's longest-serving player following his £7m move from Fulham in 2010 and was a regular following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's interim appointment last December. However, he has fallen down the pecking order at the club following the world-record move that brought Harry Maguire to Old Trafford.

Manchester United can exercise their buy-back clause for Memphis Depay if Tottenham decide to weigh up a big-money move for the Lyon forward.

The Daily Star report that Spurs were considering a £50m bid for Depay. Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed by the Dutchman's start to the season.

When United sold Depay for £15m to Lyon in 2017, they included in a buy-back clause, meaning they have first priority if the Ligue 1 side opt to sell the 25-year-old.
