United Launch New Kit
#1
With the new sponsor, Chevrolet, on board, Manchester United launched another new kit. Back to the traditional RED shirt, white shorts and black socks, there is no tablecloth styling this time around.

Quote:The shirt welcomes the return of the white collar, which for the first time is a ribbed crew neck design. The collar also has a subtle chevron finish, replicating the pattern used on the chest of United shirts from the early 20th century and in more recent times.

A hidden button in the collar is unique to the shirt – red with a black trim and engraved with the club name – while there is a small label inside the back of the neck with the message "Youth, Courage, Greatness" to represent the club's values.

On the back of the shirt, below the neck, is a black devil from the club crest. Across the back is an engineered mesh in a series of chevrons to again emphasise the importance of the shape to United.

Unlike the "leaked" images that were doing the rounds recently! These are a couple:

It looks like this will be the last Nike kit for a while.

Quote:Nike is ending a 13-year deal to manufacture Manchester United's football kit.

In a statement, the American sportswear company said "the terms that were on offer for a renewed contract did not represent good value for Nike's shareholders".

It is thought that either Germany's Adidas or Warrior will replace them.

Not sure how this happened and I am sure there will be an official investigation, but the new away shirt has gone on sale already in a branch of JD Sport:

I'll take just the outline of the logo if it has to be on there. I don't mind AIG or AON, but honestly could do without chevrolet on there. Hopefully Adidas can talk them into a better logo next year!

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the huge Chevrolet logo. It's way too bright and stands out too much. I'm sure we'll get used to it but I'll probably skip this shirt and wait for the Adidas kit to be revealed next year.

And so the blue kit was unveiled last night, too

I think I prefer Inter Milan's kit.

Certainly an advertising and marketing idea. Neither teams wearing their first choice kit. Where would the colour clash be between red shirts and the blue/black stripes?
