  CONFIRMED: Rene Meulensteen Leaves United
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 28-05-2013, 11:50 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (3)

The Times says

Quote:United’s first-team coach Rene Meulensteen is expected to leave the club in the next 24 hours following last week's departures of Mike Phelan and Eric Steele. Times journalist James Ducker claims the Dutchman has been "offered the chance to remain at United to work with their youth academy in a role similar to that which he filled for five years between 2001 and 2006 but the Dutchman is almost certain to seek a new challenge elsewhere."

This is not good news. Rene has been so influential in all the recent good things that have happened to United. His revolutionary methods and eye for technical detail have helped United massively.

I think Moyes and the board should offer him a similar FIRST TEAM role and not let him go elsewhere.

He was one of the reasons RVP came to United, too.

I've always been a big fan of Manchester United. Football is big in Asia and I remember waking up in the middle of the night to watch Champions League games and English League games. It's been a few years since I left watching it but with news of Sir Alex retiring, I had started watching again. Looking forward to seeing David Moyes continue his legacy at Old Trafford.

I flew all the way from Chicago with my Dad to watch a Man U match (my first ever) last year. It was amazing, a total different experience in the stadium than it is watching it on TV.

So, as the chants usually go, it starts out of nowhere and everyone joins in.
Now, this song, I remember this song from Sunday school...it goes something like "Glory, glory hallelujah, the king is marching on". Then all of a sudden I had a chance to hear what was actually being said:

"Glory, Glory Man United"

It was a moment of shock and surprise, but it's one of my best memories ever

  Hello from Wisconsin!

I've never really been into football but recently because of college I've been playing a lot of FIFA and meeting others who keep introducing me to the world of English football here in Madison.
I hear Manchester United has a lot of history so I figure I'd butt heads with my roommates and support a club other than Liverpool and Arsenal.
Relatively new fan, even newer to English football so I'm still trying to wrap my head about the offside rule and all, especially club play styles and rivalries. Looking to learn about a new sport since we in the states don't learn much in particular about English football.
On another note, while browsing this forum I just found out that I should NOT refer to Manchester United as Man U. A good learning experience.

Hi everyone!
My name is Wendy! windywildwendy, lol.
Windy because I'm from Chicago which is very windy (it really is a windy city!!!).
I'm crazy fun, so my friends call me wild!
And Wendy because that's my name!
I have been a Man Utd fan for years (ever since David Beckham was there, lol).
So happy I get to be a part of this forum.
Don't think because I'm an American girl that I don't know about English football, I know a few things that may surprise you.
But, I'm still willing to learn more about my favorite team!

Glory, glory Man Utd Smile
