Hi All,

I'm currently based in Prague but am from Salford originally, been over here for 6 years now.
Manage to see most of the games on TV, dont get back to the UK very often at all due to work commitments.

My fave player has to be Rooney, his work rate is second to none!

look forward to chatting with some like minded reds

  Ferdinand to miss first month!
Posted by: ManUtdPeople - 15-08-2010, 10:48 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (2)

[Image: 7zoDW.jpg]

Rio Ferdinand could miss the opening month of the 2010/11 campaign after Sir Alex Ferguson admitted the defender was "nowhere near fitness."

The United stalwart has been sidelined since early June, when he suffered a knee ligament injury while preparing for the World Cup with England. The latest update on his condition suggests he will be absent from the Reds' league games against Newcastle, Fulham, West Ham, Everton and possibly Liverpool which falls on 19 September.

Sir Alex said this weekend, "He is nowhere near fitness. He’s doing little bits of jogging and things like that. He’s at least a month away.

"It was a knee ligament injury. There was no detachment or rupture of the ligament which was a blessing. But it was a bad one and it’s going to take time."

The boss acknowledged that Rio has had "a bad 12 months" with injuries but said that "he is okay mentally."

"You don’t want to see players getting a succession of injuries when they are in their thirties," he added.

"Gary Neville had an incredible number of muscular injuries but has kept on coming back. Rio will take encouragement from the way Gary has handled his problems.

"Hopefully this lay off will help Rio's other injury problems settle down."
Sir Alex was quoted in the Sunday Express.

  : Rooney's Last England Goal :
Posted by: Hyltz'. - 12-08-2010, 10:32 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (2)

It's almost a year now since Wayne last scored for England.

Would you say :~

  1. He is just having a 'blip' in form.
  2. The 'Capello' set up doesn't suit him and stifles his style of play.
  3. He just isn't getting the service on the pitch.
  4. His frustrations only diminish his flair.
  5. He's lost his edge. (For England that is.)

  Welcome : ~ A Potted History of Bebe :

Though very little appears to be known about Bebe, here in the UK, it would seem that he is a burly, 6' 2", 20 year old 'attacking midfielder' who has been used in the past as a 'striker'.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bebe, born (Tiago Manuel Dias Correia) in Agualva-Cacém, Portugal in July 1990.
He was raised in an orphanage, having previously spent time living on the streets as a child.
After playing for Estrela da Amadora, in the Portugese 3rd Division, he was eventually signed by Vitória de Guimarães, a Portugese Liga side.
Although Bebe has never played for Portugal at full International level he did represent his country in the 'Homeless World Cup' in his youth.
He was brought to the attention of Sir Alex by being recommended by former assistant Carlos Queiroz.
Although Bebe was also sought by Real Madrid, United stepped in and bought the player for a reported £7.4 million, (believed to be the value of the buy-out clause in the striker's contract) just five short weeks after his signing to Vitória S.C.
Welcome to Manchester United, Bebe :
