  City Missed out on Welbeck
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 19-08-2009, 12:08 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (3)

I've just read a piece on the PFA Website where Danny Welbeck talks to them about how City did a Giggs on him and missed out on signing him! Another United gain.

"Born in the suburb of Longsight, a corner kick away from the City of Manchester Stadium, Welbeck was football-mad from an early age and grew up keen to catch the eye of one of the big two.

City, though, were unsure about his ability when they first spotted him, and Welbeck ended up having to bide his time at renowned local club Fletcher Moss Rangers - Wes Brown's former youth team - before he eventually won a place at United's academy."

I wonder how many clubs miss out on talent like this?

Was it only me who thought that Setanta Sports showed boring matches?

I mean, the fixtures were quite boring, 5:30 kick offs are hard to get to, and some of the matches which were usually quite good (United vs Villa, Tottenham etc) turned out to be boring 0 - 0.

Even the community shields were not entertaining, and when Sky Sports took over, the match against Chelsea was great!!!

Vidic Faces Boot From Old Trafford?
Posted by: blah_united - 17-08-2009, 07:37 PM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (23)

This was a rumor that I thought was tosh a few days ago, but I'm getting slighly worried, and thought that I should share it with you.

The rumor is that Vidic is not really injured, but is preparing to move to Barcelona for £55m, and that Alex Ferguson will anounce it as soon as he finds a replacement.

Having our best defender go is obviously a big loss, but £55m is an aufully colossal amount of money for a defender.

We already know that his wife is unhappy in England, and she would obviously encorouge a move to Spain.

I've heard that Ferguson has seen a dip in his performances in training and saw £55m as a bargain.

I've also hear another rumor that £60m of the £80m that we got from Ronaldo has been used to clear some of the £700m or so debt we have, and Alex Ferguson has been told to say that he doesn't want to buy any more players.

Do you think we should let Vidic go? And if so, what would you do with the money?

  "Mr" Ferguson
Posted by: blah_united - 17-08-2009, 07:17 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (3)

Do you know why Rafa Bentez calls Sir Alex "Mr Ferguson?"

In Spain calling someone who is not Royalty something like "Senyoir", in our case "Mr" is sarcasm and regarded as disrespect.

So maybe he thinks he is winning a private battle with Fergie by calling him "Mr Ferguson."

Well it's us winnng the trophies! HA!
