  CONFIRMED: Blind Returns to Ajax
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 17-07-2018, 11:29 AM - Forum: Transfer Talk - No Replies

Daley Blind has completed a transfer from Manchester United back to former club AFC Ajax.

The versatile and technically-gifted Netherlands international has signed a four-year contract with his boyhood club in Amsterdam, from whom he initially joined the Reds in August 2014.

lind made the move to Old Trafford after starring at the World Cup in Brazil, where he famously supplied the left-footed cross that led to former United striker Robin van Persie’s now iconic diving header against Spain.

Holland went on to reach the semi-finals of that tournament under the management of Louis van Gaal, who took charge of United afterwards and made Daley one of his first acquisitions.

In total, across four seasons in England, Blind registered 141 Reds appearances and scored six goals.

The 28-year-old also won four trophies and his first was the 2016 Emirates FA Cup, when he played every minute of our celebrated 2-1 extra-time victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.

The FA Community Shield success over Leicester City followed in August and our League Cup triumph against Southampton in February 2017.

Manchester United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Lee Grant from Stoke City on a short-term deal. The 35-year-old had his medical at the club on Monday after United agreed a £1.5million fee with the Potters.

Jose Mourinho wanted Grant to provide back-up for David De Gea and Sergio Romero as he plans to send youngster Joel Pereira on loan to gain experience. Grant made just three Premier League appearances for Stoke last season and he admits it’s a dream come true to sign for the Red Devils
