  Newboy on the RED Wagon..
Posted by: Tailam2319 - 31-08-2017, 08:07 PM - Forum: Newbies - No Replies

Hi all. I live down on the South Coast near Eastbourne and have been a Manchester United supporter since WW2, about 74 years. I saw my first game, a friendly, at Maine Road between United and City, it was played their because of Old Trafford having been bombed. I am married, 55 years and have 3 sons, one a Pool supporter and the youngest, cough, an Arse.... supporter, the other one not interested. I do not go to see United now because I am disabled, but I do record every game off of the United channel and edit them down onto DVD. I am one of those who have a rather large collection of United gear including way over 1000 DVDs, books shirts, I could go on and on.
I mustn't keep going on, I don't want to bore you.
Keep the Reds flying and the support NOISY.

Leeds United have secured defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from Manchester United in a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old arrives at Elland Road having had a loan spell at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made seven appearances.

Borthwick-Jackson made his Manchester United debut against West Bromwich Albion in November 2015 and has played 14 games for the club.

He has also represented England at various youth levels, winning caps for the U-17s, U19s and Under 20s.

It is Leeds United's 11th signing in the summer transfer window with Borthwick-Jackson handed the No 3 shirt.

Jose Mourinho did not involve Borthwick-Jackson in his pre-season plans at United, and the youngster will now set to take another attempt at the Championship playing under new manager Thomas Christiansen.

Manchester United have announced the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea on a three-year deal.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder joins for a fee believed to be £40m and re-joins manager Jose Mourinho, who brought him back to Chelsea in January 2014.

Matic becomes the Portuguese's third signing of the summer after Romelu Lukaku (£90m) and Victor Lindelof (£39.5m) and takes United's summer spending to over £150m.

Manchester City tell own fans to subscribe to MUTV to watch the derby with United.

Manchester City fans have been left angered after effectively being told by the club to subscribe to Manchester United’s in-house channel MUTV if they want to watch the derby in the United States.

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola lock horns in the early hours of Friday morning in Houston as City play the first game of their US tour while United look to make it three wins from three Stateside.

It will be the first opportunity City fans will get to see new signings Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Ederson as Guardiola looks to mould his squad ahead of the new season.

But to watch these City new boys, fans will have to sit through so very United-heavy coverage with the presenters likely to be fawning over the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof.

City posted a tweet on Wednesday providing options of where fans can watch the game based on which county they are watching from, but omitted to say where British fans could view the game.

They did, however, tell fans based in Ireland that MUTV would be their only option if they wanted to support their team live.

Therefore, fans will either have to pay the additional £7-a-month to watch the game, or be forced to follow along on a live blog. Either way, City fans are not happy

  CONFIRMED: Januzaj Leaves United
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 13-07-2017, 11:39 AM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (1)

[Image: Manchester-United-Training-and-Press-Conference.jpg]

Quote:Adnan Januzaj has completed a transfer from Manchester United to Real Sociedad.

The Academy graduate and Belgium international has signed with the side who finished sixth in La Liga last season, bringing an end to a Reds career that consisted of 66 senior appearances and five goals.

Januzaj made his United debut in the FA Community Shield win over Wigan Athletic in August 2013 and established himself as an excellent prospect that season, famously scoring a brace at Sunderland under the management of David Moyes – who is coincidentally a former boss of Real Sociedad.

Opportunities proved hard to come by during Louis van Gaal’s first season at Old Trafford and that led to a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2015/16, the Dutchman’s second campaign with United.

Jose Mourinho allowed Adnan to spend last season on loan at Sunderland and now the 22-year-old forward has taken the tough decision to leave United and make the move San Sebastian.

Using his personal Twitter account on Wednesday, Januzaj posted this statement: "Where to start... I've had some incredible moments with Manchester United since I joined. I want to say a massive thank you to all my team-mates that have come and gone from the club. It's been a pleasure to play with you all.

"Thank you to some of the coaches and staff that work at Manchester United to make it such a great club! Unfortunately, my time at the club has come to an end and it didn't go the way I wanted it to go but I will aways have love for Manchester United. And finally, a huge thank you to the fans that have stuck by me through the good and bad times! I will never forget that positive support. Thank you #GGMU."

Everybody at Manchester United wishes Adnan well for the next chapter of his career.

Shame. Another Macheda. Didn't live up to his potential and probably won't be missed. Good luck to him, though
