This looks a very interesting site, I am a retired pensioner , I have supported the red devils since i was a young lad. I used to go during the days of George, bobby alex etc.
I have been once or twice over the last two seasons but find the travel to and from the Stadium to much to handle from the east midlands. Also my eyesights not what it used to be.
In my small pension the cost is prohibitive so if this will work on a normal bt line with net connection I am yours for whats left of my life.

All the best

  CONFIRMED: Rafael Leaves United
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 05-08-2015, 11:37 AM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (3)

Quote:French club Olympique Lyonnais have announced an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Brazilian right-back Rafael, who is set to sign a four-year contract at Stade de Gerland.

The 25-year-old underwent a medical in Lyon today and will be officially unveiled at a press conference this week.

It brings to a close an eight-year association with United after Rafael joined the club alongside twin brother Fabio. He made his first-team debut against Newcastle in August 2008 and went on to make 170 appearances for the Reds, scoring five goals.

Rafael was a popular figure with fans at Old Trafford and he tweeted: "I want to thank Manchester United fans for all the love during those eight years."

In a heartfelt farewell, he continued: "Since I signed with the club I [have] lived incredible moments… eight years wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs of the world. Thank you @ManUtd. I also want to thank all employees who always treated me with great affection and gave me greater attention.

"Thank you United Kingdom, I learned a lot in this country, as a player, and no doubt as a human being, lessons that I will keep for the rest of my life. Thank you Sir Alex Ferguson for always believing in my work and for all the doors that you opened up to me. Now it’s a new path, a new challenge, God bless me!"

His former colleagues also took to Twitter to pay tribute to their departing teammate. David De Gea posted a picture of himself with Rafael during United’s 20th title celebrations in 2013: "You are one of the best guys that I know. I am sure that you will succeed in your new adventure, you’re top.”

Captain Wayne Rooney tweeted: "Good luck Rafa, we will all miss you." Ashley Young replied to Rafa’s earlier tweet, saying: "All the best Rafa aka Rafinho, wish you all the best at Lyon." And Phil Jones added: “Good luck Rafael in the start of your new adventure! Top player and top professional!”

Michael Carrick chipped in by tweeting: "8 years? Took me 4 to tell the difference between you and Fab. Good luck Raf, will miss you mate. It's been a pleasure."

Good luck Rafael and thanks for everything.

  CONFIRMED: United Sign Sergio Romero

Manchester United have signed Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero as a result of the uncertainty over David De Gea.

Romero was a free agent after leaving Sampdoria and will replace back-up keeper Victor Valdes, who has been told he can leave by boss Louis Van Gaal.

Romero, who has penned a three-year deal, played in the 2014 World Cup final and won the 2008-09 Eredivisie title under Van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar.

De Gea is into the final year of his contract and is wanted by Real Madrid.
"We have to prepare our season with the threat that David De Gea is going to Real Madrid," said Van Gaal.

If De Gea stays, Van Gaal said Romero, 28, could compete for a first-team place.
"You need always competition," added Van Gaal. "When I see that a player is better than the player in the line-up, he shall play the next match."

Romero, who knocked Van Gaal's Netherlands out of the World Cup by saving two penalties in a semi-final shootout, has 62 caps.

He becomes United's fifth signing of the summer, following deals for full-back Matteo Darmian, midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin and forward Memphis Depay .
