  Atmosphere at Old Trafford
Posted by: danposkitt - 27-11-2016, 03:38 PM - Forum: The Lounge - No Replies

I went to the game against Feyenoord the other night with my girlfriend. The Stretford End was the noisiest part of the stadium to us. We were in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, and no-one was singing near us at all.
Games in the Premier League are different, and this is why i think so.

In the Premier League supporters are only permitted to buy one ticket per member, but in other competitions, members can take up to 6 guests! These guests are only there to see the famous Man Utd, The stadium and the experience of a matchday, when The Premier League attracts the more die-hard supporters.

So how can we as supporters improve the atmosphere on these games and what can the club do to help? Does anyone else have a similar experience or similar thoughts?

And what happened to the pub? That used to build an atmosphere hours before the game!

Hi

I'm James and i live in Brighton but i'm originally from Portsmouth. I'm 38 and i have supported Utd all my life. My current fave player is Paul Pogba and my all time fave player is Eric Cantona.

I subscribed to the gold package on here around 15 mins ago but my gold account has still not been activated. Can i expect for it to be activated in time for the game tonight?

James

Hi all, am new to this site and computers so bare with me. Am 58 res old, now live in wigan. Have been a life long red as are my family. In my younger days I followed the reds home and away, which was fantastic. These days I am mainly an armchair supporter. Over the years I have many favourite players. Law, best and Charlton goes without saying. Bryan Robson and Keano have to be up there along with more recently Scholesie. But for pure showmanship and presence it has to be ERIC, Good guy or bad guy all other teams hated him. How good was he..............

It was interesting in the chat room on Sunday. It seems that one of our group likes a flutter. Well, I have no problem with that, but I wonder, should a United supporter bet on our biggest rivals to WIN?

What do you think? I say no.

Wigan Athletic have named Manchester United youth-team coach Warren Joyce as their new manager.

Joyce has been on the coaching staff at Old Trafford for eight years, during which time he has been in charge of both the Under-21 and Under-23 squads and has signed a three-year deal at the DW Stadium.

Wigan Athletic chairman David Sharpe said Joyce - who replaces Gary Caldwell in the role - is someone he has admired for a long time and is convinced he is the perfect choice to take the club forward.

"Warren has everything we are looking for," he said. "He is an exceptional coach who has a reputation within the game for being among the very best at bringing through young players, as his record at Manchester United shows.
