  Hello from Czechia

Damn, I actually used the new official name for Czech Republic that everybody here hates, but whatever, it's shorter Smile

Anyway, hi! My name is Matej, I'm originally from Slovakia, but I live in CZE since cca 2007. I've been a Man Utd fan since my childhood (I actually remember playing as them often as soon as FIFA 96, when I was about 7-8). Why United? They had a reputation of always going for the win, never giving up and fighting till the end. I found that extremely inspiring and admirable - and I still do.

As for favourite players, back than it was definitely Giggsy, Scholes, I definitely enjoyed the van Nistelrooy era, but it's hard to tell - there were so many great players, great characters. Today I have to go with Rooney, for his dedication, versatility, persistance, and also for his charity activities off the pitch. And I also really like Juan Mata - great player and probably the nicest guy in footbal Smile

It's surprisingly hard to find United fans around here, so I'm glad to have found this community Smile

  Old Trafford Expansion Plans
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 25-01-2017, 12:42 PM - Forum: Man Utd News - No Replies

Manchester United are seriously considering expanding the Old Trafford capacity to a staggering 88,000.

The increase by more than 12,000 would be likely to start with an extra 7,500 seats in the Sir Bobby Charlton stand, formerly known as the main stand.

Previously, the railway line at the back of the structure meant expansion would require a costly tunnel and the demolition of a number of houses. Advances in technology, however, mean this may no longer be an issue.

Following completion, capacity would stand at about 88,000 — putting Old Trafford second only to Barcelona’s 99,354-capacity Nou Camp at club level in Europe.

It would be second in this country to Wembley (90,000) and bigger than Real Madrid’s Bernabeu (85,454).

Marouane Fellaini to Stay Another Year!!
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 12-01-2017, 12:53 PM - Forum: Man Utd News - No Replies

Manchester United have triggered a clause in Marouane Fellaini's contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2018.

Fellaini signed a four-year deal with the option of a further year when he joined from Everton for £27.5m in 2013.

United boss Jose Mourinho has activated the option despite uncertainty over the 29-year-old midfielder's future.

Fellaini was booed by his own fans last month but scored in the EFL Cup semi-final win against Hull on Tuesday.

The Belgium international ran to Mourinho to celebrate his goal in what seemed to be a show of recognition for the faith shown in him after a difficult period, which included giving away a costly penalty at Everton on 4 December.

Speaking after Tuesday's victory, Mourinho said: "He has a very strong mentality and has coped well.

"He knows he is a very important player for me."
