Last week manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the Reds do have money to spend despite the hefty interest payments the club pay on their debt.

A Glazer spokesman told M.E.N. Sport the club was "not for sale".

But then they would say that .... wouldn't they ?

It was also quoted in ' The Times' according to :~ ManUtd.com.

Well United just came out denying the story apparently.

That's what Hyltz and Vazza said earlier. Reported on manutd.com and in the MEN.

Glazers to resist Chinese bid
The Glazer family maintain that they will resist any offers for Manchester United after it emerged yesterday that a secretive Chinese consortium is exploring the possibility of taking over the club. Although those behind the plan have still to be identified, The Times understands that the reported interest from a Chinese consortium is genuine. Sources have indicated that the interest is serious, that at least one of the businessmen involved is a United supporter and that a bid is expected, although no approach, formal or otherwise, has been made to the Glazers. Questions emerged about the Glazers’ ownership of United when The Times revealed this month that the family have been struggling for several months to refinance part of the £699 million debt that was taken on when they bought the club in 2005. However, a spokesman for the family said: “Manchester United is not for sale.”

There is one thing the Glazers have done for the club however; that is to leave SAF to look after the footballing side of the business while they (and David Gill) worry about repaying the loan. They haven't interfered at club level at all .... so far. Although, with transfer monies seemingly having dried up (Adem Ljajić - who knows ???) that could all be in the flux of change right now.

SAF tells us the money is there, should he need it; Really ? But then I don't think he would say anything that could possibly be misconstrued as harmful to the club, especially at this stage of his reign.

I feel that now is the right time for change.
  • It would be good for the club - (possibly debt free.)
  • It would be good for the Glazers - (A nice little earner.)
  • It would be good for us - (The 'Transfer Coffers' brimming again.)
  • It would be good for football - (United (if they qualify) get to play in the Champions League in 2012, should Platini* get his way that is.)

A word of caution :
Consider how easily everything went wrong for the 'Dippers', and them with just 2 owners.
Imagine what could happen to us with 3 times as many if, after the honeymoon, they start to disagree amongst themselves.

this should be really good, as a new owner with lots of money comes in and we should be able to pay the €/$700 million debts, and later we have a chance to buy new players, after sir alex furguson leaves, as he never buy any one, he should really consider buy some star, to fill out the weakness, a RB and a ST is needed.

Even little 'Dippers' in diapers need Christmas presents and, when all the bins are empty, if you can't rely on neighbors in times of need ............ .
