Carrick Fit To Be A Red?
#1
HAHA i had a long argument at the live game against pompey here with a few fan's.
i was saying Michael Carrick is not Manchester united material. lets face it he would start for...

Liverpool (gerrard + mascrano)
Chelsea (lampard + balack)
Man City (ireland + barry)
Arsenal (fabergas + arsavin)
Spurs (modric + huddlestone)

He is very average!

I'm not sure I get these threads where the aim is to slate the players that wear the shirt? OK, so his form has dipped, but as an England International, how can you say he isn't good enough?

What to gain from these threads? First Nani, then Foster, now Carrick! Why not pick positives from YOUR team?

im just saying were MANCHESTER UNITED (the best team in the world) and he isnt one of the best players.
all doe i understand you but nani and carrick are just NOT good enough. give foster a little more of a chance.
but evan when carrick was playing his best for us he wasnt super.

Yes. This thread is supposed to be about Michael Carrick. For discussions about Nani, please see:

By the way, a (slightly) interesting story about Mr Carrick:
When he was a reserve team player for West Ham and had just broken into the 1st team, he was looking to buy a house on a new estate built to the side and the rear of my Mum's house. Her house has been there since the 1960s and she has a line of tall trees bordering the garden. Mr Carrick came round with his accountant, asking for the trees to be chopped down, to which my Mum refused. He came back with the classic line: "Don't you know who I am?" My Mum didn't. The trees are still there and he bought a place in Romford!

Told you it was only slightly interesting!
