Six famous Sir Alex Ferguson fall-outs
1..Paul Ince
His self-styled ‘Guvnor’ persona riled Ferguson. The Scot ended up labelling the midfielder a “bottler” and a “------- big-time Charlie” before shipping him out to Inter Milan in 1995.
2.Jaap Stam
The Dutch defender was sold to Lazio in 2001 after alleging in his autobiography Head to Head that Ferguson had approached him about joining United without the permission of his previous club, PSV Eindhoven. Years later Ferguson admitted he had made a mistake
3.David Beckham
His deteriorating relationship with Ferguson literally came to a head following an FA Cup defeat to Arsenal in Feb 2003, when the manager allegedly threw or kicked a boot that struck Beckham over the eye. Beckham was sold to Real Madrid during the summer of 2003.
4...Roy Keane
His position as captain looked unshakeable, but he angered Ferguson by complaining about facilities at pre-season training and with repeated criticism of team-mates. He left the club in Nov 2005.
5..Ruud van Nistelrooy
Spent six matches on the bench towards the end of the 2005-2006 season. It was later suggested he had been ""punished following a training ground fight with Cristiano Ronaldo"". Van Nistelrooy was sold to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
6.Cristiano Ronaldo
Things turned sour in June last year when reports emerged linking the Portuguese winger with a move to Real Madrid. Ronaldo's angry response to being substituted during a 2-0 derby win over Manchester City revealed tensions between the pair and Madrid eventually got their man for £80 million in June.
