Manchester United Transfer Rumours and Gossip
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has held clear-the-air talks with Anthony Martial and says "the matter is now resolved".

Martial, who has asked to leave United this month, took exception to Rangnick claiming he did not want to be part of the squad for Saturday's 2-2 draw at Villa, and hit back by saying "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United".

Rangnick did not explain why there were two contrasting versions of events, but insists it is no longer an issue with the France international available for selection against Brentford on Wednesday. However, it is reported he still wants to leave Manchester United but does not want to go out on loan to another English club. Barcelona, Sevilla and Juventus are three options for a January move

Yikes!

Ten Hag has put Jude Bellingham, Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice on his wanted list, but he looks set to miss out on all three. Borussia Dortmund have told United to forget about luring England ace Bellingham to Old Trafford because the German club are not prepared to sell him following the departure of Erling Haaland to Manchester City this summer. Leeds star Phillips, meanwhile, has no intention of joining his bitter rivals United due to the hatred that exists between the two clubs.

And to make matters worse, Rice has hinted he will remain at West Ham next season and has no interest in going to United while the club is not in the Champions League. Ten Hag is also an admirer of Lazio's defensive midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but the Italian club have told United he is not for sale. It means Ten Hag is back to square one in his attempts to line up fresh midfield talent as he begins to discover the cost of United's failure to secure Champions League qualification.

Manchester United have confirmed Paul Pogba will leave the club this summer when his contract expires at the end of June.

The academy graduate left Old Trafford as a free agent in 2012 to join Juventus and returned for a then world-record fee of £89m four years later. We really don't know how to manage players or command fees, do we? Twice he has left for nothing!

Nearly over the line....Manchester United have agreed a deal worth up to £57m for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, who is set to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

United will pay a guaranteed €57m (£48.5m) for the Argentina international defender, with an additional €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons agreed between the two clubs. The move will see Martinez link up again with former Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag, who signed him for the club in 2019, at Old Trafford.
