Sad News: Former United Star, Brian Greenhoff Dies
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 23-05-2013, 11:51 AM - Forum: Man Utd History - Replies (5)

It was with sadness that I just read this sad news on the Sky Sports website:

Quote:Former Manchester United and England star Brian Greenhoff has died aged 60.

Greenhoff, who was born in Barnsley, joined United in 1968 and played in the same team as his brother Jimmy, who joined the club in 1976.

The central defender, capped 18 times for his country, scored 17 goals in 271 appearances for United and was part of the victorious FA Cup final team of 1977.

He joined Leeds United in 1979 but left when they were relegated three years later.

After brief spells in South Africa and Finland he returned to play for and coach Rochdale before calling time on his football career in 1983.

Manchester United said on their website:"Everyone at Manchester United is shocked and deeply saddened by the news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brian's family at this difficult time."

Earlier a statement had been released to the Manchester Evening News by Greenhoff's family that said: "We regret to inform of Brian's passing this morning.

"Brian was a proud and much loved brother, husband of Maureen, father of Paul, Brian and Peter, grandfather to Jack, James and Harry and will be sorely missed by his family, who he made very proud in his distinguished life and career."

I remember listening on my radio to the United games in the 70s and being fascinated as a kid that brothers made it to play together at the same great side.

RIP Brian

Check this out! Some guy on YouTube named theAntonAlfy made a video showing the highlights of Manchester United's 2012/2013 season. I, for one, find it very inspirational. You should watch it, too.

Congratulations to Manchester United for having one of the best seasons in the club's history. You deserve the trophy. Glory, glory Manchester United!

PS: I apologize if it's only just a link. I can't embed videos yet. Thanks!

I never said them things: Manchester United's Wayne Rooney denies putting in official
Posted by: themarksquared - 22-05-2013, 01:25 PM - Forum: Transfer Talk - No Replies

Good day, Red Devils.

One of the most controversial topics during off-season is the transfer season. Today, I have some news for you about the said topic, this time regarding Wayne Rooney.

Here is the source should you want to read the full article. I will only be quoting the important parts of the article.

Quote:Wayne Rooney fears he is being forced out of Manchester United and into exile as Paris Saint-Germain.

Rooney is adamant that he has NOT made an official transfer request, despite newly-retired manager Alex Ferguson publicly insisting that he HAD asked to leave the Old Trafford giants.

Quote:England striker Rooney had been hoping to start discussions about a new contract, yet United appear to be pulling the rug from under his feet - and that could force him out.

Quote:The Mirror understands that Ferguson had even explored using Rooney as bait in an incredible player-plus-cash swap deal to bring Manchester City keeper Joe Hart to Old Trafford.

Quote:Rooney has been left disappointed to see himself being accused of twice asking for a move in the past three years.

While he admits to having clear the air talks with Ferguson, as he sought assurances about his future, Rooney remains adamant that no formal transfer request was put in.

What do you think? Feel free to comment! Let's start a discussion!

GGMU!

Posted by: rashidckk - 22-05-2013, 08:15 AM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (3)

The transfer rumours say that Manchester United already started looking for Rooney's replacement. Real Madrid's French striker Karim Benzema is said to be one of the options for the replacement. What's your take on this transfer rumour?

  Xbox One rant
Posted by: themarksquared - 22-05-2013, 04:49 AM - Forum: Chat Room - Replies (6)

A few hours ago, Microsoft announced the new gaming console that would "revolutionize" the gaming industry. They announced the Xbox One. They said that it WILL be the game changer. It will change your gaming experience. The experience which can be found only on Xbox One.

Bullcrap, Microsoft. All bullcrap. I never thought that a freaking voice-activated remote control for my TV would revolutionize the gaming world. I never believed that having no support for backward compatibility and the requirement for us to pay for second hand games would make my gaming experience better.

This is only my opinion. Feel free to share yours. Let's discuss.
