  Your Valuable Input

Hey guys. We had a few internet breakdowns and outages over the past couple of weeks. As a result, the powers that be have filtered sports and entertainment content, as they don't feel it's in the business interests. Boo!

That means that during the working day, I cannot access Sky Sport News, ManUtd.com, BBC football, ITV sport, or any search engine related to football!!:O Sad

That means that you guys will have to keep up the good work through the day and keep me (and the other members, of course) up to date with what is going on in the Manchester United world.

It's a very black day for me Confusedcared:. Keep up the good work guys.

The only saving grace is that, at the moment, I can still access this fantastic site. Smile

Petr Cech injured in Chelsea v. Inter, Anderson out for SIX months!
Posted by: P211 - 26-02-2010, 06:21 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (1)

Petr Cech was injured against Inter Big Grin. If its a long term injury it will work for us cuz were playing Chelsea @ 4 April at OT. But Anderson is now out for SIX MONTHS, after an injury at West Ham.

The Brazilian was forced off in the first half against West Ham on Tuesday and will undergo an operation in Portugal in a fortnight, but Sir Alex Ferguson hopes the 21-year-old will be fit for the start of the 2010/11 campaign.

"The real bad news we have got is that Anderson has suffered a cruciate knee injury and he’ll be out for rest of the season," confirmed the boss on Thursday. "It’s unfortunate for the boy. It’s a bad blow.

"We’ve assessed the situation, we know he needs an operation. That will be done in two weeks’ time when the swelling has gone down. We’re going to let him go to Portugal to do it. Sometimes we send them to Colorado and to Dr Richard Steadman, but on this occasion he is comfortable with the specialist he has dealt with at Porto in the past. He will deal with it. We made these decisions yesterday once we had assessed the damage. But hopefully, six months, should have him about right for the new season."

The incident itself against West Ham seemed innocuous enough, Anderson stretching to reach the ball to make a pass. "With these types of injuries, it’s usually something simple. He stretched to pass the ball and his knee just popped," added the boss.

"It’s a bad bit of news for him. He was just getting back into the first team after being out for a few weeks. He was looking forward to it and he was showing great energy in the match.

"So that is a blow to us, particularly with the Milan game coming up, because Michael Carrick is suspended for that one."

sucks, hope he recovers soon!

Anderson out for season
Midfielder suffers serious knee injury in win over West Ham

Anderson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after the Manchester United midfielder ruptured his cruciate ligament against West Ham United.

Quote:The Brazilian was making his first appearance in over a month after being named in the starting line-up for Tuesday's 3-0 win at Old Trafford.

However, Anderson was replaced by Park Ji-sung inside the opening 20 minutes of the Premier League fixture after hurting his knee.

Scans have shown the 21-year-old has suffered severe damage to his cruciate ligament and he will play no further part in United's campaign.

The injury setback could prompt further speculation over whether Anderson has played his last game for United following an indifferent season.

Anderson has struggled to consistently live up to his billing since arriving from Porto in 2007 and has scored just once in 97 appearances for the club.

He was linked with a move to Lyon during the January transfer window and recently admitted he was considering his future with the Premier League champions.

The midfielder feared a lack of football would hinder his prospects of making Brazil's World Cup squad, but injury has now denied Anderson the chance to represent his country in South Africa.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the severity of the injury and hopes Anderson will be fit in time for the start of next season.

Bad blow

"The real bad news is that Anderson has a cruciate knee injury," said Ferguson. "He will be out for the rest of the season. It is a bad blow.

"He was looking forward to the match on Tuesday and he was showing great energy to do well.

"It is a bit of a blow to us, particularly with the AC Milan game coming up because Michael Carrick is suspended.

"It is strange, when you see cruciate injuries it is usually something simple. He stretched out for the ball and his knee just popped.

"We have assessed the situation and know he needs the operation.

"That will be done in two weeks' time in Portugal once the swelling has gone down. Sometimes we have sent them to Dr Steadman in Colorado. In this instance he is comfortable with the surgeon he has dealt with in Portugal in the past.

"He will be out for six months and hopefully that should have him about right for the new season."
