  Just A One Man Team?
Posted by: UnitedsRedArmy - 01-03-2010, 09:58 AM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (22)

Then there was Wayne Rooney, a man who just doesn't quite know when to stop (thank god).

Are we a one man team? Yeah, maybe we are, but aren't most top clubs all reliant on some great player?

Arsenal have Fabregas, Chelsea with Drogba, even Liverpool with Torres, so what's really wrong with that, it's part of football, right?

Yeah it is but when they go down with injuries, those same top clubs all suffer one way or another, what can we do about it really?

Buy more players? There are lots of good players, but great ones...they are few and far between but because we are the great Manchester United, it is only us who get labelled a one man team.

We are the ones who will get nowhere without Rooney, so we are told by the endless dribble from TV pundits the likes of Hansen and Shearer and critics from the press. Why?

It's all because we are one of the greatest teams in football and they all really want us to fail and each year we annoy them a little bit more when we bounce back. If you listen to them somewhere around November, they start taking us apart and always by March they start eating those words again because one thing's for sure.

We are always in the mix on the home straight and always upsetting people, they are all the same and all saying, "there's no way Man United can do it again" or is there?

Man Utd tell Ferguson to sell 10-15 players from squad
Posted by: Vazza - 27-02-2010, 03:17 PM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (12)

Manchester United face a major firesale at the end of the season.

The Daily Star says
United will be forced into a drastic summer clearout to help keep their massive £716m debts in check.

Sir Alex Ferguson will be told to axe 10 to 15 players as Manchester United look to trim their budget in light of their current financial problems. Those players will be the club’s young professionals in addition to more established stars who Ferguson deems surplus to requirements.

United have close to 50 professionals on their books and the club’s money men have identified the size of the club’s first-team squad as the way to cut costs.

The news is likely to anger already frustrated United supporters who have become disillusioned by the Glazer family’s cash-grabbing reign at Old Trafford.
