Thumbs Up United Agree to Sign Chicharito
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 08-04-2010, 05:17 PM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (24)

Subject to a work permit, the deal for the Chivas forward will be completed on July 1. 'Chicharito', as he is known, will become the first Mexican player to sign for United.

As part of the deal, United will play a match to open the new 45,000 capacity Chivas Stadium in Guadalajara this summer. Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I am delighted to reach agreement with Chivas to bring such an exciting young striker, who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country.

"We are equally excited to play our first game in Mexico, opening the magnificent new Chivas Stadium in July."

Chicharito passed a medical in Manchester this week and has an impressive strike-rate at club level, scoring almost once every two games. However, he has done even better for his country, with four goals in four appearances, making him a contender for the World Cup.

  Nani: We're disappointed
Posted by: ManUtdPeople - 08-04-2010, 09:02 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (8)

Nani scored 2 important goals yesterday, but it was not enough.. United wants to focus on domestic matters now!

Quote:"We scored three goals and I think it was one of our best performances, so we are disappointed. They were a bit lucky. Of course, we have to give everything we have now to try to win the league and that's where we go now."

  Old Trafford holds the key

Great article from Man Utd

Quote:Losing to Bayern Munich and Chelsea isn't the best preparation for a Champions League quarter-final second leg - but there's plenty to be positive about ahead of tonight's clash.

United have progressed on each of the last seven occasions when the second leg has been at Old Trafford, most spectacularly overturning a 2-1 deficit against AS Roma at this stage three years ago. That incredible 7-1 win was described by Sir Alex as his best night in European football at OT. "I hadn’t thought about that match," Sir Alex said ahead of tonight's fixture. "But Roma were probably equal to this Bayern side in terms of ability. They had some very good players."

While we can't demand, or expect, a similar scoreline tonight - Sir Alex said it's a once-in-a-lifetime European result - the atmosphere that evening and the rallying display shows what Old Trafford is capable of on Champions League nights. If you're at the game, sing your hearts out for the lads. And whether you're at OT or not, this video should get you fired up for a gripping game.

Gives out positive energy for tonights match! Wink
