  ZORAN TOSIC. PLAY HIM MORE.
Posted by: ScottishPower - 05-12-2009, 12:42 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (4)

Right. This Llajic think has me extremely vexed. This season, Giggs has undoubtedly been at the absolute top oh his game. Scholes however, really, really, really has not been performing. It comes as no surprise to me whatsoever that the rumours have begun today about his exit. Now please bear with me as I'm going to take a while to get to my point here.

Nani, as we ALL know has not been performing at all - and does NOT look like a natural left winger. Simply because he is portugese and has some trickery with his feet, SAF has WRONGLY assumed he can do what Ronaldo did, in the position he did it in. A right sided player playing left wing and doing it well is a rare thing, Joe Cole is one of very few examples I can think of, of it working. Giggs, of course is now more suited for the more central role.

So we signed Zoran Tosic - who was to be honest, my most exciting signing of the summer. Llajic, who came along on the deal, surprised me because to be honest from what i'd seen, he was just a kid dribbling around a whole bunch of kids. Not exactly established. Tosic, meanwhile is an established pro, he looks great on the ball, can take free kicks WELL, takes corners WELL, shoot from long range, has great movement and can command games. He scored a stunner in pre-season for us and yet STILL, SAF has seen fit to pretty much ignore him.

Now i hear we are going to have to apply for another work permit for him because we are using him so little. He came on for a derisory 12 minutes at the end of the spurs game - if any of you have the ability to watch the end of that game watch it. He makes sure not to give the ball away once, his passes all have accuracy and purpose, and twice he manouevres himself into space on the left, once a good 20 yards clear of alan hutton, who was steaming up tottenham's right, at one point, waiting for a sitter. Being ignored by our boys who have gotten so use to evra being the true threat on the left that they turn the other way, miss him and go to the right.

If SAF evaluates him on these 12 minute performances, he will see no goals, no assist. Then again what i see is, NO TIME, NO SERVICE.

His quality is written all over him and im now starting to get pissed off. START USING HIM fergie, please.

Scholes to Decide on his Future
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 05-12-2009, 10:31 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (31)

Wow! I saw this on skysports.com this morning:

Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes has suggested he will consider his future at the end of the season after admitting he questions his contribution to the team.

Over the past couple of campaigns, the former England international has been used more sparingly by manager Sir Alex Ferguson and this season has appeared in just over half of the club's fixtures.

Scholes' contract at Old Trafford expires next summer and there has yet to be any indication as to whether he will be offered a new deal.

The 35-year-old admits to thinking about his future and believes he has not been performing to the levels he attained earlier in his career.

Different
"I wouldn't say I am playing some of my best football," said Scholes.

"I don't always feel I am making as much of a contribution as I'd like to.

"I always preferred it when I was playing regularly and scoring a lot more goals. Now, it's different.

"I play once every two or three weeks and I can only hope to do well when I get the chance. I don't have a choice.

"Obviously, every player wants to play every week, but I know now it can't always happen. I just have to be okay with that."

Regarding his future, Scholes added: "You do think about it. I'm not too sure.

"I'll just carry on with the way it's going at the moment and we'll see what happens come the end of the season."

Another loyal and superb servant to United. His legs have slowed a little, meaning he is getting later and later for tackles....or is he early for the next one. He still has a tremendous football brain and what passing ability. I hope if he does decide to hang up his boots, he stays at United in some role.
