  Obertan? ...
Posted by: RedDevil99 - 28-11-2009, 12:40 AM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (15)

Just looking through the forum and im amazed no1 has posted anything about obertan atm ...

The first time i see obertan i was a little bit skeptical, he seemed a willing chaser of the ball but failed to really do anything with the ball and wasted possession ..

However ... the last couple of games he has been immense...his movement and footwork is awsome and puts in a wicked ball ... he is very strong and got alot of pace... jury is still out on whether the lad can finish...

i read on the manutd.com website that obertan is still yet to be 100% fit as hes had an outstanding back problem for the last 6 months ...

In my opinion, if he plays his cards rite and keeps consistent, the lad could be one of the next big things at old trafford, and what a bargain ...

Whats every1 elses veiws?

Premier League Van Nistelrooy for Liverpool....
Posted by: andrewcmufc - 26-11-2009, 01:30 PM - Forum: Premier League - Replies (7)

:O:O could this be true about or former goal machine

Quote:Former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy could be set for a January move to Liverpool.

The Dutchman has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid and is desperate for first-team football to secure a place at the World Cup.
Arsenal had reportedly been leading the chase but reports today suggest the 33-year-old favours a move to Anfield.

Van Nistelrooy has made it clear his is open to a return to the Premier League.

Rafael Benitez is desperate to bolster his strike force as his team fight for a place in the top-four.

It is understood that the Spaniard will be forced to sell to raise funds for any move, with Ryan Babel and Andriy Voronin expected to make way.

I suppose its the same as us signing owen

  Grant named as portsmouth Boss
Posted by: andrewcmufc - 26-11-2009, 11:54 AM - Forum: Premier League - No Replies

Yes the most exciting man in football is back as pompey boss, aw well at least ill be able to fall asleep when he's giving his interviews

heres the full report from sky

Quote:Portsmouth have confirmed Avram Grant will take over as manager to replace the sacked Paul Hart at Fratton Park.

Hart was relieved of his duties earlier this week following a disappointing start to the season which has left Pompey bottom of the Premier League.

Former Chelsea boss Grant initially appeared not to be in contention to succeed Hart, with ex-Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson installed as favourite for the job.

However, Pompey held talks with Grant regarding the position on Wednesday and have now confirmed the Israeli as the club's new manager.

Grant had been appointed as director of football by Pompey last month and had been awaiting a work permit to get stuck into his role.

He has now received the necessary clearance to start work and will be in the dugout for Pompey's home date with champions Manchester United on Saturday.
Respected

Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie told the club's official website: "Avram is a very experienced and respected manager who has managed at the highest level.

"The board believes he is the man to help steer the club out of the relegation zone.

"He knows the club, the players and the set-up at Fratton Park, so it was the logical move to make him the next manager, once the board had decided to relieve Paul Hart of the role.

"He will take charge of training on Friday alongside first-team coaches Paul Groves and Ian Woan."

Grant had previously been director of football at Portsmouth in 2006/07 before he joined Chelsea in a similar position, later replacing Jose Mourinho as manager.

For Saturday's game against United, he will take charge in his capacity as director of football, with Pompey needing to acquire a new sponsorship number from the Football Association in order to change his permit status to become manager.
