New Kit. Did You Buy It?
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 01-10-2009, 02:58 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (7)

With respect to an old thread about this season's kit, I just wondered how many fans actually went out and bought any of the new shirts, knowing that they will change next season? I think that most people have come to like the new shirts - I said MOST, not all, of course - but just wondered how many forked out?

The original thread (now closed) was here:

Me? Well, I usually buy (or am bought) a shirt or 2. I didn't this year, specifically because the sponsors change at the end of this year and the same style shirts will be used, with new name.
Yes, I am also having to cut down on spending, anyway, due to work, etc.
Next season should be different.

  Fergie Chases The 'Montengrin Messi'
Posted by: reillyg - 01-10-2009, 12:26 PM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (6)

Reports in Italy suggest United keeping tabs of Fiorentina teenager Stevan Jovetic, with hopes to sign him in the future. Interest increased after his 2 goals and wonderful performance to beat Liverpool.

However, Fiorentina look set to respond to this interest by slapping a €25 million (£22 million) minimum relsease fee one him.

He definatly looks like a potentially great player, but the price tag looks a touch steep. But then again he did make the scousers cry.

  United Chase Cahill
Posted by: reillyg - 30-09-2009, 03:43 PM - Forum: Transfer Talk - Replies (21)

Recent speculation has linked United with a move for Bolton's centre back Gary Cahill. Cahill is being followed by Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan, but with Chelsea's transfer ban and Cahill prefering to stay in England it seems United are the front runners. Fergie has earmaked Cahill as a possible replacement for Rio, espceially with Rio's poor fitness over recent weeks.

This could be a good siging especially with the injureis we have had in defence recently. He is English too which would help with the new squad rules and the possible 6+5 rule.

Tevez True Blue...with a dash of brown
Posted by: blah_united - 30-09-2009, 10:35 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (28)

Carlos Tevez has spoken out after his brace against his fomer club, West Ham, that he will now celebrate if he scores against Manchester United.

The man who hit the woodwork in the last Manchester derby had this to say -

I’ve decided not to celebrate my goals out of respect to West Ham, They were my first club in England and, in my heart, part of me will always be a Hammer. The professional part of me was really pleased with my first City goals at home but, personally, I would have preferred to beat another club. In the derby against United I had also decided not to celebrate our goals but, after the bad treatment I received from the supporters that day, I have changed my stance on that. If I score in the next derby then I am sure that I will celebrate.
