YOU ARE LIVING IN THE YEAR 2000

A strange Hobo comes up to you and tells you that Liverpool Goal-Hero Micheal Owen will, in 9 years time, will be playing for Manchester United.

Do you believe him?

I'm a big fan of this guy. He looks like he could be a big star at Old Trafford soon, when he comes in January, along wth Liyjic. His finishing is great, knows how to header a ball, very fast, energetic, and is a team player.

There seems to be some doubts over whether he will be able to handle English football, and I think it will take him a long time. For me it seems that he wil become one of the older goalscorers in Europe (Villa, Fabiano, Berbatov, Ribery etc) and it will take him time to adjust.

I just wanted to say that I can see can a lot of shirts being sold with his name on the back, and a certain club from Spain *sighs* will offer millions for him, and then he will move to them (that being his downfall) claiming it was his dream. (Let's hope not!)

What do you make of the rumours surrounding Rafa Benitez's future at Liverpool?

Whether true or not they could have an impact on the teams preparation for tonight's match.

  City Missed out on Welbeck
Posted by: Noucamp99 - 19-08-2009, 12:08 PM - Forum: The Lounge - Replies (3)

I've just read a piece on the PFA Website where Danny Welbeck talks to them about how City did a Giggs on him and missed out on signing him! Another United gain.

"Born in the suburb of Longsight, a corner kick away from the City of Manchester Stadium, Welbeck was football-mad from an early age and grew up keen to catch the eye of one of the big two.

City, though, were unsure about his ability when they first spotted him, and Welbeck ended up having to bide his time at renowned local club Fletcher Moss Rangers - Wes Brown's former youth team - before he eventually won a place at United's academy."

I wonder how many clubs miss out on talent like this?

  Setanta Bores

Was it only me who thought that Setanta Sports showed boring matches?

I mean, the fixtures were quite boring, 5:30 kick offs are hard to get to, and some of the matches which were usually quite good (United vs Villa, Tottenham etc) turned out to be boring 0 - 0.

Even the community shields were not entertaining, and when Sky Sports took over, the match against Chelsea was great!!!
