  We Hate Blue Van
Posted by: WatchMUFC - 27-03-2009, 06:23 PM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (7)

Man Utd Sources reckon that it is the Blue jersey that Van Der Sar is now wearing that has made us lose the last two games.

The champions have been alerted to the fact they have a far better record when the Dutch keeper wears yellow as opposed to blue.

Van der Sar has worn blue in United’s last two Premier League games, which have seen them beaten 4-1 by Liverpool and 2-0 by Fulham.

Now United could turn to their vision expert, who was first employed following the infamous grey-shirt debacle at Southampton in 1996.

We can reveal Van der Sar has worn yellow in the league 17 times this season.

In those games, United have conceded just four — with a goal difference of plus 21 — winning 12, losing one and drawing four, gaining 40 points from a possible 51.

However, the figures take on a different hue when Van der Sar wears blue.

In 10 games, United have conceded 13 for a goal difference of plus seven, winning six, losing three and drawing one — 19 points from 30.

Refs deny pushing Man Utd's Ronaldo out of England
Posted by: zainman - 25-03-2009, 07:27 AM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (13)

Premiership refs deny claims they're pushing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo out of England by not protecting him.

There will be "no change" and "no special case made" towards Ronaldo, despite Manchester United’s anger at what Sir Alex Ferguson describes as ‘systematic fouling’ of the Portugal playmaker, says the Daily Mail.

United fear that Ronaldo will be forced out of the club in the summer unless he is offered more protection and a greater understanding.

Phil Dowd, widely praised for his decision to send off Wayne Rooney for dissent in United’s 2-0 defeat against Fulham, was asked to take his fellow referees through a video of his performance at Craven Cottage as they gathered for a planned conference meeting.

He had been asked in advance to take the session — it was his turn — and there was no special show because of the high-profile performance on Saturday. During the session Dowd, who sent off two United players in a game for the second time in his career, is believed to have accepted there were errors in his display.

However, he has been given the full support of the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL).

  Not Good Enough
Posted by: WatchMUFC - 21-03-2009, 06:55 PM - Forum: Man Utd News - Replies (20)

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted the team were not good enough as they 2-0 lost at Fulham.

The defeat, on the back of last week's 4-1 home reverse against Liverpool, means the Champions have suffered back-to-back league defeats for the first time in 147 games.

"If you lose games in March and April it can cost you. Fortunately we have a slender lead at the moment but not a lot and I'm hoping we come back from the internationals back to our best."

Wayne Rooney was also sent off for a second bookable offence for throwing the ball away.

"Did he throw the ball at the referee? The ball was thrown direct to where the free-kick was being taken - did it hit the referee? No.

"He threw it because he wanted to get the game going. What can you say about that?

"There wasn't a bad tackle in the game but John Pantsil was booked in the first half for nothing - it was just a tackle. Tackling isn't always perfect - I thought it was totally unfair.

"But there's no point talking about the referee - we didn't play well enough to win the game in the first half and that's why we lost it.

"In the second half I thought we did really well - they kept going and credit to them.

"But we're home to Aston Villa in our next game - and that will be crucial."

Alex Ferguson was talking to MUTV.
